Hi anyone here play Newcastle? I play CM since DOS era and now coming back to FM2011 playing Newcastle want to share some tactics on the team.
Andy Carroll play so poor for me when i first started, seems like he can never get a goal almost made me wanna sell him

After countless try & try i finally found some way to dramatic improve him. I play him as Target Man Attack and set his mentality to highest so that he
always lurk farthest in opposition box waiting for ball deliver to his head hehe. Then have him to attack Far Post in corner so he will get a lot of corner
goals like 1 in 3-4 corner attempts. Also i found a super best cheap player ever to feed him corners and freekicks. This guy name Mauricio Molina is unbelievable!
Set him to take all corners, freekicks, penalties and play him as central midfield support. Andy and Molina combined each other getting very high rating each
match since after assist and goals both of them morale power up and this made the whole team boast up. Molina always get Bossing in the midfield status,
he only cost 2 mil, the china made imitate version of Xavi hehehe

I got problem with Newcastle fullbacks though, no matter how i try they just play so poor average 6 rating. I play 4-4-2 wingers and 4-3-2-1.
Any tips to improve fullbacks?

My tactic width is normal also. I play them both as automatic role, tried defend role also same performance for me

FM2011 same with CM long time ago just put a good player in the right position and will profit hehe.
Now realize the game has improved leaps and bounds that i have to find the right tactic and right player to support each other.

So long never addicted to a game, bravo SI

Couple things i dont enjoy though, the repetitive press conference and the player injuries are too much seems not realistic.

Eisen i tried set them both to defend play like 5-6 match still same. Jose Enrique stat seems quite decent dont know why he also not performing, i'm wondering if my formation has too big gap at both flanks

Yo bro zul, good read and good results. After 11.3 patch i've started new game with Newcastle too.
I also bought a good defender Christian Zapata as i think Newcastle original defenders are quite weak. Mike williamson & Colocini is so so
Did u use Stephen Taylor? I think he is very good, consistent in defending and scores a lot of corner goals with attack near post.
I managed to buy Davide Santon with 3.5 mil, last time i can't even buy him with Real Madrid offering him 30 mil lol

Btw, what formation u use? And which striker u bought to replace Andy Carrol the 35 mil man with underrated stats in FM

I think he should be quicker & have more composure in FM.

My no. 1 newcastle player is David Ginola, still remember always using him in previous FM.

I didnt realized collocini taking 130k/week lmao i am gonna sell him asap as i also only use him as backup.
I just sold williamson for 4m.

I only use Barton as ball winning. Tried box to box before but he's getting tired too soon. This new patch he seems to like to complacent
against weak team does this happen to your game?

I played 4-2-2-2 Jonas is my left inside cutting inside & ben arfa right inside forward both doing very good avg 7.+ rating.
Wikham seems pretty good, some more possessing long flat throw for a striker, thats special
I use kadlec & christin benitez both well known in FM. Next time i think i'll try Lukaku & play crossing game see.

I'm into 2nd season now & M.City just hired Mourinho! City is no.1 leading me 1 point, last season City is not even top4.
Seems Mourinho did well in FM too

Patch 11.2 i have played 3-4 seasons then stop. Since 11.3 i've play till 2nd season now.
I use an uber tatic from fm-base & got no.1 in season 1. I think the 30+ mil newcastle have in start is really helping.

Very good result man! With my own tactic in 11.2 patch i only managed to get Newcastle no.4 in 1st season no matter how i try.
Leigh Griffith this guy has very good finishing, nice find!
Neymar i think he wont be interested to join Newcastle will he?
I bought Lukaku as Kadlec injured & he's pretty good even if i play him as poacher instead of target men

Hey i almost finish my 2nd season. Already champ before 3 last games. That tactic is crazy after team is fully gel. Lose to chelsea 1-0 then next match thrash MU 10-2 lol

Yo Zul, collocini diam diam only in my game i think he knows i wanted to get rid of him soon hehe. 170k is crazy, with that wage can get Sakho already 1 of the best defender in game.
Ya in my game also Newcastle being take over but i didn't check which group. Is good though as the new owner immediately expand the stadium & training facilities
In my start of season 3 i got 130 mil to spend so i bought Neymar & Sakho for the fun of it as I wont continue the game already. Wanna try my own new tactic with new season.

I saw u made some pretty good transfer deal there. Cavani is a monster! Bentley & Granero is damm good also.

I've tried quite a bit of 4-2-2-2 in fmbase but none of them is as consistent & explosive as this.
In fact most of them is not playable by team like Newcastle as the defending will become a nightmare.

This tactic create a lot of goal chances through good player movement & positioning.
I've seen a damm lot of successful killer ball passing with this tactic where i rarely see in other tactics.
This is also the only tactic that i've experienced that can see the wing backs get high & consistent 7+ rating.
Most tatics i tried including my own tactic the wing backs are rubbish & most of the time is the culprit of conceding goals

I will try my own 4-4-1-1 tactic which i've use it to win Serie A with Udinese in 1st season. After patch 11.3 though my tactic no longer work sigh...
But now i will re-tune the tactic with Newcastle see, though the success with my Udinese tactic is partly due to having a godlike tranquetista Antonio De Natale &
the superb defender Cristian Zapata

Yea i think Neymar join me due to winning champions league with increased club statue. Play him few games & havent found anything special yet as Jonas is doing too good
in my game. Put him into Kadlec's poacher position also not so great as Kadlec. Might need time to gel him i guess.

Barton does not even want to renew contract with me in start of season 3. He feels no more target & wanted to look for new challenge

Zul did u try changing the position of your player in your tactic? I found out that after one season my team will do bad until i change some of the player's position.
Think this is due to CPU recorded/learned our tactic. I position swap my center midfield & defenders, left to right & vice versa, it always worked for me.

lmao David Beckham went to Bristol!? I tried use him once before, only perform so so for me
I started a new game with Newcastle again using 4-4-1-1 tranquetista & bought few key players i always used in my old Udinese game.
Doing quite good atm no.2 & just 2 points behind leader Chelsea.
FM save game can often goes corrupt, better make new save after few games. Since it's gone might be time for new game season

4-4-1-1 with Kevin Nolan as tranquetista
Have you try italy league? Maybe u should give it a go
