Hey all, for those who face "non-compatible USB" issue when you connect your phone to the computer. Here's the solution that might help.

Method 1

1) Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2) Open Control Panel and go to "Programs and Features"
3) From the list of available programs, choose "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver"
4) Click on the "Change" button on top toolbar.
5) In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose "Repair" and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
6) Restart the computer if prompted.
7) Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and both OVI suite and PC suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

Method 2

1) Uninstall everything that has to do with Nokia (eg: Download, Map Loader, Ovi Suite, etc)
2) Reinstall Ovi Suite again by connecting USB to phone in mass storage mode then click on OVI suite installer

Credit goes to those who discovered it, I'm just sharing for convenience and not claiming any credit for this.

PS: TS can add this to FP? This is a common problem faced by Nokia handset of all models

Last time with my 5800, change from front usb to back usb might work. Don't know about N8.

My 5800 worked when i did that too but n8 doesn't.
Somehow other N8 users blame the ovi suite for this

I see... hopefully my future N8 will don't have this problem. sweat.gif

seems like n8 take pic in night like ...not good

I think, all camera phone produce poor images under low light. That's why when N8 equipped with larger sensor than any normal camera phone (even for some digital camera), we really hope it can give us more control to take better picture in almost any condition.

Aiyoo....you guys seriously....don't you see the smile.gif

This is for camera phone, not normal camera. Please compare apple with apple, orange with orange. At least with DC, not DSLR. Even 1000D also can beat N8.

But 9.9s with 1/8 is really far away. I think max for camera phone is 1-2s only.

+1 sifu DSLR investment is not cheap. When u starts it you will have more temptation to spend its accessories and lens end up its a very expensive investment when your Nokia N8 only cost u RM1690

I do agree N8 dont really perform that well in extreme low light. Thats why they added a xenon
*
Been there, done that.

For body only already RM2k. Then come flash, then lens...lens..lens..., then need telephoto lens, then..... the list will go on. But then...someone stole it... cry.gif

about the DSLR video recording capability...actually last time my friend said some PRO said why wanted to make DLSR like video camera..it looks like @#$%...something like that. laugh.gif
oh well for me good can edi nod.gif

investment...err...i only can say
a) investment for living
b) investment for hobby
*
Yup, most pros are questioning the move becoz when you use video recording, you let light on the sensor constantly.

Where the tournament? I still yet buy one. Again today I went to other shopping mall to get one, but all stores are out of stock. But one shop still have one because they sell at RM1790.

Most seller told me that N8 have so many problem, better buy C7 they said. One seller told me they don't want to restock N8 because the risk is to high. The funny thing is, one lady told me Samsung Wave camera is much better than N8.

Apple is smart. or perhaps Steve Jobs is a smart guy.sorry that it's not in the right orientation.
*
What good about iPhone is the marketing, not the hardware.
They have strict app approval because they don't want their phone crash like N8.
They sticked with iPhone name through out their phone product so the brand name have higher value.
They sticked with one phone at one time so they can focus more.
Mass produce lower the production cost, but still they sell at higher price.

Yup Steve Jobs is a smart guy.

Did you know that N8 don't have battery while C7 has one?

So when if C7 battery have problem, we can change it but not for N8.

Ha...ha...ha... that what that lady told me to poison me to buy C7.

680mhz is enough if the processor is ARM Cortex A8.lol...besides that,i learned 680mhz is not enough from another ranger...hehe

DARN!!!i forget to make a conclusion for the feedback!Radiance, pls add into my feedback...N8 worth the price!remove all those bug and solve the lag issue will add more value for N8.i cant find any close competitor for RM1500+ phone in comparing with N8.(compete in terms of worthiness)Nonetheless,i dun mind to pay more few hundred ringgit if Nokia dump in high performance processor, better screen, higher RAM etc etc..(this is my personal opinion)
*
For RM1500, it is a good phone. Why complain about more processor power, and more RAM while Nokia actually want to sell at cheaper price for its customer. What Ranger should point out is the software weakness where it can be correct without introduce a new hardware which can increase the price. Although, I myself really want if N8 have camera cover like N900 so it can protect the camera when not in use.

Some customer can pay a few hundred ringgit more but some aren't. If with the additional hardware upgrade (which I believe will be another phone model) it will add another 200-400 ringgit, that phone model will be in another customer range of income. Unreachable by some.

I read some ppl compare iPhone with N8. Please lah... those iPhone cost almost RM3k, can buy 2xN8. But look at its specs. iPhone specs is not much better than any RM1.5k phone but the money they get from this over price phone is to invest in their iOS development which is superb. Kudos for its OS!

I still waiting new stock. Yesterday came home empty handed, still no stock. Want to make a comparison with N8+DC (sub RM500)+DSLR (350D) picture quality.

I think they will use ARM Cortex-A9. I think it was what Sifu SuperEvilAlien said.
Nokia will obviously not use Hummingbird cause it's by Samsung. Snapdragon possible but not likely knowing the fact that Nokia has been using ARM processors for so many of their devices unless they want to set precedence on the N9. ARM Cortex-A9 is quite powerful as well. With optimised speed of 830mhz. Most likely speed to get for stock clock speed. Nokia always put lowest optimised clock speed for the proc.

ARM Cortex-A9 Details : http://www.arm.com/products/processors/cor...a/cortex-a9.php

Or anyone wishing for ARM Cortex-A15 take a look at it too : http://www.arm.com/products/processors/cor.../cortex-a15.php

A15 is extremely powerful.
*
Based on their track record, they will still use ARM processor on N9.

What Nokia really lack is in their software department. My previous 5800 take a year before they come out with a better firmware. Can't they make a good firmware before they shipped the phone? sad.gif They like to sell first and listen to user comments later (if they really listen).

I think Nokia should keep producing cheaper phone (<RM1k) and come out with a single flag phone for each >RM1k and RM2k. So, instead investing money to find a way to make a variety of phone, they should think about 1 or 2 phone only. Instead of building an OS to be compatible with variety of hardware, they should focus on 1 or 2 only.

Just my RM0.02. wink.gif

i brought this point up before, right now what they do is spam phones in the market, but the fact is, NO ONE changes phones every 3 months..(apart of the one or two ppl here of coz tongue.gif) so no point spam so many phones out...they should just put maybe 1 flagship per year, 3 mid range(one music, one business and one camera or something else) and maybe 3 low end phone per year, then they can allocate more resource into building a better firmware for each phone, not like how it is now, dunno got 20+ phones in the market despite their market dropping
*
