Hey all, for those who face "non-compatible USB" issue when you connect your phone to the computer. Here's the solution that might help.

Method 1

1) Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2) Open Control Panel and go to "Programs and Features"
3) From the list of available programs, choose "Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver"
4) Click on the "Change" button on top toolbar.
5) In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose "Repair" and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
6) Restart the computer if prompted.
7) Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and both OVI suite and PC suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.

Method 2

1) Uninstall everything that has to do with Nokia (eg: Download, Map Loader, Ovi Suite, etc)
2) Reinstall Ovi Suite again by connecting USB to phone in mass storage mode then click on OVI suite installer

Credit goes to those who discovered it, I'm just sharing for convenience and not claiming any credit for this.

PS: TS can add this to FP? This is a common problem faced by Nokia handset of all models

My 5800 worked when i did that too but n8 doesn't.
Somehow other N8 users blame the ovi suite for this

Extremely satisfied. It fits all my usage perfectly.
Plan on what sort of usage you'll use the phone for and judge if it's good for you.

If it's camera then N8 is highly recommended. There is pros and cons to the phone but nothing is perfect.
So weigh its pros and cons yourself and see if it fits you. Only you yourself knows what you need best

1) A way to upload pics direct to sites such as fb and flickr

2) Make it easier to mark multiple items rather than choosing Option > Mark for every item

As in direct upload and such. How to do that? Sorry if I'm noob but I don't know how.
And I thought the quality is compromised when upload to fb? (Read somewhere in the thread by a user)

It's ok because some user are not experiencing scratch or anything but some people who are paranoid like me will buy and use 1

I'm saying fb and flickr. Not imageshack cause I don't use it.
Even the current social apps is not satisfactory by many users here.

Lol, sorry my mistake

I wish Nokia would solve the backlight issue where it won't dim or turn off after lock.
It happen again to me at 5pm and still won't off after I restarted more than 10x and even left it off for 30 minutes

I'm trying to refrain from that because I heard you lose a number of stuff

Done, solved.
I did some research on various forums, sites etc and I notice there is a few common traits for this problem:

1) Most happens after social app update (including me)
2) At least half of the time it happened due to Maps
3) Certain time due to widget (I solved mine by making my homescreen totally blank then restart)
4) Rarely it's because of software but it does happens

Thus hard-resetting is a guaranteed solution but not permanent as it may reoccur again when something triggers it.
Only way is for Nokia to fix this software issue

Anyway this is just my 2cents worth of advice so it might be true or it might not be.

Even the auto connect stuff has changed.
