Hi, I'm new to Astro Byond. When I turn on the Byond decoder, it display something like "Firmware update available". But no matter what I pressed, I still can't get it update. I left my decoder overnight but I'm still getting the same message. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Has anyone noticed that if u reboot the Byond box now, the default channel that will appear first is ch130, the Mustika preview channel instead of TV1 CH101..? anyone notice? i have said it before, it seems like astro's mustika package is lacking subscribers..the promo for that channel appears on almost every other channels..they even have their own preview channel and now they want to extra promo it to us by making it the 1st thing we see when we turn on Byond..

how to set that I reboot(close the decoder, switch off the plug, then switch on again and open the decoder) the byond decoder then go to that channel (I open astro byond, the first channel is NTV7)?? I don't know how to describe

That was Quadro LNB if i'm not mistaken...
You can feed 4 different decoder using one LNB....
Same concept like Byond PVR, but Byond PVR only use triple output LNB...

2) all my HD channel got permanent msg appear saying 'copy protection failed'. annoying la to watch movie like dis. hehehe. (i tried to browse this thread but too many pages and i ended up nowhere... help....)

3) i'm using sony bravia dunno what model (but very old ones la). i see got hdmi channel. but the astro installer connet the red-white-yellow wires to my previously used 'video1' lobangs. is this correct? i tot astro hd should use hdmi channel...? am i getting a low-quality hd channel like this?

I have to wait until 1 month to get installer to call me. You still cannot break my record for the longest waiting time to get byond install.

my decoder still not resopding to my remote. got red colour at below the off button but the decoder doesnt respond if i press any button. now currently stuck at main menu =.-

1st rule of using computer. When things don't work, pull the plug and do a cold boot. That's what I will do.

Done that many time before with other satellite decoders. When not functioning properly, PHYSICALLY pull the plug and reboot. After all, these are still gadget running on software just like computer.

If talking about step to take, this is what I will do:
1. Pull the plug and do a cold boot. And that includes the remote control unit.
2. Check the battery.
3. Call Astro because doing more may void the warranty.

True enough, what I meant was to thank the specific Astro staff who are helping us here as well as the one calling the people in trouble in this forum. Those Installers who are creating most of the problem here won't definitely get any thank from me.

Wanna ask one noob question, if I connect my audio from beyond to my HomeThreater, will it affect or interfere with my picture quality?

is the byond smartcard still tie to the decoder like last time?
or can use it on another decoder now?

eventually some genius will hack it
