Even every old dish? I subscribed to astro when they started introduce the service.

My signal strength only 160 - 170.    is this normal ?

What i want is:-

If i off my HTS i want the sound from both SD and HD channels to come out via the TV speaker.
SET AUDIO SETTING FROM DOLBY DIGITAL > STEREO


And if i ON the HTS i do not want any sound from the TV without me having to MUTE the TV be it SD or HD channels.
WITHOUT MUTING, JUST TURN YOUR TV VOL. TO MINIMUM

All Connection are HDMI only.

Any solution?

So where do you guys purchase your coaxial cables? Any affordable ones? So far the cheapest I came across was a coax cable from Monster at about RM170+.

Any cheaper ones? Not really a serious sound lover but just want to connect the decoder to my home theater.

Hey guys, after they installed your astro byond, does it get activated immediately or need to wait for few days?

Will you still get to watch astro while waiting for byond to get activated?

The installer fella came few mins ago and told me that lots of customer still waiting for activation. My mum already told Astro that when the system upgrading is done, then only set appointment date with her.

We have been waiting for like more then a month, still nothing.

I think we just gonna wait till next year till everything is stable, then only call for byond.

What we want is activation after installation as what they told through the phone. Not a week or 2 weeks of waiting.

Btw,will they have to drill a hole to put new wiring or can they use the current normal Astro wiring?

So guys,now I subscribing to normal Astro,if I subscribe to B.Yond,they will change everything right?Decoder,remote,dish,do I need to buy anything extra?

What's RF cable?The white colour coaxial cable?I hope they would be able to use the current one and no need to drill a hole through the wall to install new cables

i got a problem.

recently i just moved into my new home and get my  renovation contractor to fix astro cable(normal ones used for the grey colored dish) which is conceal.

And now i wanted to subscribe to astro and according to astro installer, the new set of hardware which is the black colored dish uses a diff type of RF cable from the 1 used for the grey color dish..

i really dont want to hack the wall again n change to cabel and conceal it again.. zzz
my question is:

1) cabels for both normal astro and astro beyond is different?
2) cant use back the same cabel?
3) any other way to get the astro beyond without changing the cabel?

sigh ...

...Do you notice that when we want to find the channel guide let's say on HBO (channel 411), at that time, I was on channel 104 (Astro Ria).., I need to browse all of channels available from 104 to 411 to check the program guide for HBO.

Guys, can the B.yond work if the Home Theater system doesn't have an Digital Coaxial input? I was told that we can still connect the B.yond deck to the HT system via the conventional RCA stereo inputs. I tried but didn't get any sound feedback?

Current Connection:

B.yond --> HDMI --> LCD
DVD Player --> HDMI --> LCD
HT--> RCA --> B.yond (for sound)
HT--> HDMI --> LCD (for visual)
