They are putting too much effort on sports (main source of income i believe)

For me

1. Launch some quality HD channels.
2. Improve SD pic quality. (Now some SD pic quality are not far away from a VCD quality vmad.gif )

What i want is:-

If i off my HTS i want the sound from both SD and HD channels to come out via the TV speaker.
SET AUDIO SETTING FROM DOLBY DIGITAL > STEREO

And if i ON the HTS i do not want any sound from the TV without me having to MUTE the TV be it SD or HD channels.
WITHOUT MUTING, JUST TURN YOUR TV VOL. TO MINIMUM

All Connection are HDMI only.

Any solution?

Even the terrestrial TV PQ are better than them.
Especially TV3, NTV7, TV8 & TV9.

So where do you guys purchase your coaxial cables? Any affordable ones? So far the cheapest I came across was a coax cable from Monster at about RM170+. sweat.gif

Any cheaper ones? Not really a serious sound lover but just want to connect the decoder to my home theater.

If use normal RCA, can hear any differences?

Hey guys, after they installed your astro byond, does it get activated immediately or need to wait for few days?

Will you still get to watch astro while waiting for byond to get activated?

The installer fella came few mins ago and told me that lots of customer still waiting for activation. My mum already told Astro that when the system upgrading is done, then only set appointment date with her.

We have been waiting for like more then a month, still nothing.

I think we just gonna wait till next year till everything is stable, then only call for byond.

What we want is activation after installation as what they told through the phone. Not a week or 2 weeks of waiting.
*
Once the installation has been done, the installer activated the service ON THE SPOT, then only I signed the acceptance form.

So many people waiting for B.yond  sweat.gif

Btw,will they have to drill a hole to put new wiring or can they use the current normal Astro wiring?
*
Depends on your cable condition..... hmm.gif

Exactly same scenario a year ago... hmm.gif except for the service activation part.

may be in their terminology, 'True HDs' are not those 'up-scaled' HD programs. icon_idea.gif

If you are now an astro's subscriber, yes they'll change the satellite receiving dish, RF cable 20m (if necessary), decoder+remote, & HDMI cable for you.

What's RF cable? The white colour coaxial cable?I hope they would be able to use the current one and no need to drill a hole through the wall to install new cables  sweat.gif
Haha yea extra RM20/month  laugh.gif
*
RF cable refers to cable from dish to decoder.
MOSTLY they'll use your current cable, so no worries....... thumbup.gif

i got a problem.

recently i just moved into my new home and get my  renovation contractor to fix astro cable(normal ones used for the grey colored dish) which is conceal.

And now i wanted to subscribe to astro and according to astro installer, the new set of hardware which is the black colored dish uses a diff type of RF cable from the 1 used for the grey color dish..

i really dont want to hack the wall again n change to cabel and conceal it again.. zzz
my question is:

1) cabels for both normal astro and astro beyond is different?
2) cant use back the same cabel?
3) any other way to get the astro beyond without changing the cabel?

sigh ...
*
my question is:

1) cabels for both normal astro and astro beyond is different?
I can only say both can do the job well. Built-quality wise which is better, no idea.

2) cant use back the same cable?
.... Mostly no problem, as long as your decoder can detect sufficient signals, then it's OK.

3) any other way to get the astro beyond without changing the cable?
......Same as above thumbup.gif

Guess Astro getting smarter! Like in simple comp prgming,
If B'yond decoder, then HD signals...Else SD...

1 Ch accomodating both HD & SD...
Haha! Wonders of Hi-tech... wink.gif

UPDATE: Yup! Heard on Fiesta advert that it's available in BOTH HD & SD on Ch 110!!
Thumbs up to Astro for accomplishing such a feat! Or is it Astro's latest experiment?
*
Don't be fooled by the channel's number.
It's just a channel no. & nothing to do with channel's frequency.

(Correct me if I'm wrong)

Astro Fiesta can be viewed on

for Astro Byond Subsribers : Ch 110 (HD) or Ch994 (SD)
for Astro Subscribers : Ch 110 (SD)

...Do you notice that when we want to find the channel guide let's say on HBO (channel 411), at that time, I was on channel 104 (Astro Ria).., I need to browse all of channels available from 104 to 411 to check the program guide for HBO.

On the channel guide, press the 'green button' for sorting. Sports, Movie, HD,......The preset channels will be listed down.

I do agree pressing the Ch. no. is more straight forward.

The best is dubbed in different languages for all Malaysian viewers. (Like the Natgeo WILD)

Satu......? Malaysia
Satu......? Malaysia
Satu.......?Malaysia brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

Or else, leave it as its native language & provide different languages subtitles. Fair thumbup.gif

Guys, can the B.yond work if the Home Theater system doesn't have an Digital Coaxial input? I was told that we can still connect the B.yond deck to the HT system via the conventional RCA stereo inputs. I tried but didn't get any sound feedback?

Current Connection:

B.yond --> HDMI --> LCD
DVD Player --> HDMI --> LCD
HT--> RCA --> B.yond (for sound)
HT--> HDMI --> LCD (for visual)

Do what I say...

On your remote,

presss HOME > Select Settings> Select Your Settings> Select Digital Audio Setting > Change setting from Dolby Digital to Stereo(Digital & Analogue)

Understand. thumbup.gif
