You should mix more with a lot of these commoners especially the older generation ! I have been to china many more times than you.

Try to watch taiwanese hokkien serials, and you'll know a lot of older generation don't speak mandarin but only hokkien. If you're rich, then fly to taiwan yourself.

Only dogmatic people like you say cantonese is number 1, I didn't say that.

I say that it is alright for people to learn their mother tongue be it cantonese, hokkien or hakka.

Only losers like you ONLY know mandarin.

Reminds me of those Miss chinese international competition held in TVB every year, I noticed that Malaysian contestants can speak cantonese and mandarin, only losers like YOU and singaporean contestants need a translator.

Not only north west but north east slang is also very different from malaysia and singapore.

Mandarin is a chinese language spoken by the Manchurians who cannot speak chinese properly, just like how malay or indian speak mandarin.

Astro has channels for the 3 chinese languages ie.

301 - AEC - Mandarin

304 - Jiayu - Cantonese

333 - Hua hee Tai - Hokkien

334 - Mandarin

Wah lai toi - Cantonese

The only language they cannot satisfy are the Hakka.

So stop complaining (except for Hakka) !

just received my astro bill . There is a 6% govt tax this month onwards !

It is about time to remove some package after CNY to save cost !

Actually, those already subscribed to ch 310 won't have ANY advantages this CNY.

If he is customer service head, he should resign bcos most of us know customer service in astro SUCKS !

I complained about those FIXED subtitles in channels such as AXN, Discovery channel etc since 2006 which obscure the viewing screen.

Until today, nothing is done to remove it into closed caption.

By the way, are there any complaint forms receive by Astro customer service, and most importantly, do they ever ACT on it.

I remember last year, I went to astro office in bukit jalil. Lo and behold, I met this angry customer...

He complained about how poor Astro service is, how the manager don't reply to his phone calls etc after numerous complaints made.

Complain to LAPAQ and see what he can do about it.

Astro packages is now more expensive bcos of the 6% govt tax so it is not rm 20 but rm 22.
