Hi, I'm new to Astro Byond. When I turn on the Byond decoder, it display something like "Firmware update available". But no matter what I pressed, I still can't get it update. I left my decoder overnight but I'm still getting the same message. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Alternatively, you may set 'TV VOLUME' to 'OFF' in the HDMI Options of your receiver or HTS if it's available.
Thank you thank you, finally your solution works, so many settings on the HTS i overlooked this one.

Unplug power for 1 minute, on it again. If the problem still happen, call Astro CS for replacement.

If your's is a normail b.yond pvr follow the above instruction. If it is a b.yond pvr, it better to press the on / off switch on the left hand side of the decorder until it reboot and lift your finger.

Last year abt this time it was hoo ha and excitement abt HD launch and now in less then 12 months the silence here shows it has all died down all cos of dissappointment. The switch to Beyond for better SD quality as claimed turned out to be bullshit! Even HD sucks on certain channels. The excitement is over and the much awaited Discovery HD never came and so are other much anticipated HD channels. We got rotten eggs at last, but the anticipation still continues.......Maybe this December they might consider IPTV cos they want to be Number One, lets keep fingers crossed.

Yeah that uncle who fixed my byond told me that PM will implement all HD channels on all ASTRO channels in november 2010, now november going to end turns out PM and him are two big liars.

And not just that that uncle also took back all the new RCA cables came with byond box and attempted to take back my RCA cable from my TV after he fixed the HDMI. He said now we give you HDMI cable for free, then you dont need these cables already. He put all those cables in astro byond box with my old dmt, rca cables and took the whole thing away. So cilaka one.

I did report this to astro though and like usual nothing happen.

I reckon astro should start to focus on converting existing channels to widescreen. This would make them so much more bareable. I'd much rather have 1/2 the SD channels in widescreen than another 10 HD channels. What do you think?
