need to upgrade from normal decoder to the byond decoder coz my mum's VCR finally kaput and she's been nagging me tat she can't record her shows. the options are astro PVR and the other one with the external HD. with byond plus ext hard drive, must i commit HD channel package? my mum has no need for HD channel - happy with wah loi toi.. wat about the pvr? and wat charges are involved for both besides the RM10 or RM5 monthly? thanks

HD services is optional but PVR fees is RM10pm,I suggest go for Beyond PVR ,then External HD, u pay RM20 extra if u take HD and u get HD channels corresponding only to your packs. icon_rolleyes.gif

What is your problem with that? Its true..at the same time AXN N AXN HD show Hawaii 5-0 (the new version), TV2 does show Hawaii 5-0 (the old version)..my dad watches the TV2 version every Saturday and at the same time he also switches to AXN HD to watch the new version..

Next time, check ur facts dulu bro..no point fire2 TV2 when u urself have got no idea whats going on..

Since all current HD channel on B.yond use DVB-S, would it be better if they change to DVB-S2 instead? hmm.gif

Please complaint to Ass throw.. I just called them to complaint that ESPN HD audio is too soft. The CS said due to ESPN HD is not delivering Dolby Digital (DD) so the audio could be soft compared with other HD channels delivering DD. Then, I asked her why astro zhi zun without DD but the audio volume is quite standard with other HD and SD channels. Don't let Ass throw fool U.. They are too lazy to resolve the issues.

I see. Also, i can't help but to notice Discovery Channel have "compression" issue. Every time i tune in especially on Mythbusters time, random pixelation will appear. What's the deal? doh.gif

Normal issue what. I've been seeing this problem with foreign channel for ages. I think it's because unlike local channels, foreign channel datastream already arrive at Ass-throw compressed. For various reasons (most likely to add hard subtitles), instead of just forwarding the bitstream, they recompress the signal doh.gif

All these could be averted if they have just forwarded the bitstream and adding subtitle data stream instead of what they're doin now shakehead.gif
