Yes, if one unsubscribe to HD, then we also have to return to shop our HDTV because without HD, it's useless.

HD program comes from several sources including Astro Byond & Bluray etc. If there are no HD program, there is no point buying big screen HDTV. That is a fact.

Of course one could argue that big screen HDTV are there as show off to visitor to your house. Never mind it is useless without HD programs blush.gif

biggrin.gif So next time someone who just bought a big screen HDTV asked this question "I have Astro, should I now subscribe to B.yong". The standard answer will be "If you don't, then return the HDTV or cut off Astro altogether" biggrin.gif

- NO automatic weekly recording schedule yeah I hated this as well. maybe if there are demands they would add this functionality
- NO way to DELETE recording after watching I dont miss this feature as I never delete anything. If HDD full, it will auto delete
- very CONFUSING interface, multiple steps to watch a recoding lettle known shortcut, press play button and you'll be taken away straight to your planner
- Whoever designed the user interface definitely NOT a AstroMax user or ever used a PVR before!!!! i hated the MAX, so not sure what to say

Thanks for the reply & tips.. rclxms.gif

Really hope Astro add the manual weekly or daily recording feature... like myself, once I setup the recording, I do not keep needing to program and re-program the channels every week or so... until I found out that the series is over or something...

A PVR is about automation... but if I hv to manually record my shows every week, then it becomes a weekly hassle ( my wife watch Astro most of the time, I just watch occasionally when she is not watching ... )

Let me try it out the "PLAY" button shortcut...

I'm not sure if this is how it works or any other shortcut...... now if I want to PLAY a recording series.. I have to go thru the following steps:-

- Press Home button

- Goto Planner

- Press right , right twice to goto Series Tab

- Select the Series I want to watch, it jump to Booked Tab

- Press right key to jump to Recorded Tab

- Then choose the Recorded shows I want to watch

All in all, I hv to press like 7-8 times on the button minimun...

Is this how everyone does it or there are other shortcuts and tricks ?

Thanks

Well...not quite. You weren't held at gunpoint and forced to hand over 20rm a month for a few channels. You made that decision yourself.

I don't think myr20 is too bad for the 8 or 9 HD channels I watch. Apart from AXN, the others are actually new channels (as opposed to HD broadcasts of existing channels) so they do add to the variety available.

Of course there's room for improvement. It would be great if astro looked at providing more variety by adding a HD channel to every package available. Eg a HD news channel (sky news?), one in the metro package (CI HD?) etc. Although more movie, documentary and sports HD channels would be appreciated, adding HD where there currently isnt any would be better. It also could persuade HD subscribers to sign up to more packages!

Overall I'm very happy with astro beyond. Well, apart from the fact that occasionally the sound cuts out, comes back, cuts out, comes back for about 20 seconds before returning to normal!
