hi guys,

just a question on old condos. why are mont kiara older condos' prices went up crazily just because the exterior got renovated? For example pines, pelangi, palma all >15 years old. surely the water piping everything rusted already right?

If one buys an old condo at such a high price RM600K and take a 30year loan, 30 years later the condo will be nearing 50years old, what will happen to the value? Is a 50-year old condo safe to live in ah?

thanks!

A lot of ppl are buying into the MK hype created by the developers. I have been a MK resident since 15 yrs ago and things are not like what it used to be.

Potholes, snatch theft, never ending construction, pollution/dust, clearing of hills/jungles which made some of the monkeys invade the nearby condos posing danger to kids, traffic bottleneck during peak/school hours etc. None of these are reported in the press.

Some of u asked why Bayu is cheaper, it's the location for the body parts murder. I know the owner who bought and is living in that unit. He was the one who discovered the parts in the fridge.

However, MK still remains a popular place for expats, esp Koreans, Japs etc. But most of them are lower ranking or blue collar expats, not the top CEOs etc. These are the folks who go to work in workmen uniform and hardhats working in the Perodua factory etc.

When you buy a condo in MK hoping for rental income frm these tenants, be careful. They will b**** about the slightest things, demand for this and that when their budget is only around RM2,5 - 3K.

So which condo there would you recommend to purchase for investment purposes? Im talking about both rental income and capital appreciation.

Someone did mention about kiara 3 condo being below market value. Can someone really elaborate about Laman Suria since I have interest in one of the units there. Besides the traffic jam due to the garden intl school, what other disadvantages compared to let's say angkupuri, bayu or pines? I am not living in M'sia currently but want to buy one for investment.

I always thought that being near to int'l school and garden int'l school is a plus point, that's why everyone puts this in the ads. Am I wrong?

Thanks for your input

Hi guys,

Am thinking to move into Mont' Kiara area as my family and myself like the surroundings - more greens compared to where we are staying now. Having a budget of 750k +-, 3 to 4 bedrooms.

Any recommendation on which condo? Have been eyeing Palma but not sure if it is a good choice.

Thanks. Will have a look. Any other recommended areas apart from Mont Kiara?

I am considering Mont Kiara because of the atmosphere and surroundings - a lot of greeneries.

Killed the husband, understandable but subsequently also electrocuted the wife, quite puzzling. Olden days can happen, modern days all premises should be equipped with circuit breaker, how did it happen?

Yea I feel sympathy about the family.. but my writing is not pointed to the tragedy, it's the arrogant developers culture themselves.
