is WD Play sold already?
You don't want that.
Most of the reviews posted negative feedback saying it's worse than any generation of WD TV Live.

On another note, just bought a WD TV Live Streaming today for RM299 at SRi Computers LYP.

Very happy with the purchase. Now I can watch any movies that is unwatchable on PS3. Hint: Cinavia.

Have u try the Netflix? Is it same as apple tv interface?
Nope, not yet.
Although I don't think I can access NF since I don't use VPN. Only using UNiFi 10Mb/s + DNSAdvantage DNS.

Can we actually use NF without using VPN nowadays? hmm.gif

rm 300? that's reasonable. will check it out. share us ur review. smile.gif
Not available anymore bro.
The unit that I bought is the last unit they have. tongue.gif

Except for WD TV Live Hub, they still have a lot. That's also on promotion. IINM, it was RM599.

My review? Simple. With WD TV Live Streaming I never have to worry about Cinavia again. laugh.gif

home theater system. panasonic.
If you're using a home theather system, then why do you need to disconnect any audio cable?
Just use HDMI to transfer video & audio from the WD TV to your LCD TV, then connect the home theather system audio input to the LCD TV audio output.

That's what I do. So whenever I switch the video using the remote control, the audio will automatically be switch too.
No discconnected is ever needed. smile.gif

Finally figured out how to put the WD TV Live Streaming into deep sleep instead of just normal sleep mode.
With deep sleep, the WD TV Live is no longer hot when powered down.

The Pros: 0 power consumption without turning off the power adaptor.
The Cons: Startup may take a while.

How to enter deep sleep:
Hold the power button for more than 5 seconds.

How to identify normal sleep & deep sleep:
Normal sleep:
LAN activity LED is still showing activity. Only visible if you're using LAN cable instead of WiFi.
The top of the WD TV is still hot even when turned off.

Deep sleep:
LAN activity LED doesn't show any activity, completely turned off.
The top of the WD TV is much cooler, no more heat.

I'm using HDMI input to the LCD TV.
Then from LCD TV output the audio using RCA to the home theather.

My HT doesn't have optical input.

u connect ur wd tv live using wifi or lan cable?
Lan.
Everything in my house is using Lan.
Only mobile phones, tablet & laptop uses WiFi.

Everything else uses gigabit lan cable. That includes hypptv, openbox, wdtv, ps3, pc & server.
I dislike using WiFi, I only use it if I have no other choice.

My WD TV Live Streaming remote control stopped working all of a sudden.
Not sure if the remote itself is dead or the IR receiver on the WDTV itself is faulty.

The weird thing is, it was fine when I start playing a movie, then there's a total power blackout in my area & then the remote stopped working after the power came back.
I didn't touch nor drop the remote while the power outage occurs.

Thank god the warranty for my WDTV is still valid until July. grumble.gif

After disconnecting the AC adaptor from the WD TV Live Streaming for 12 hours, the remote works again.
Dem. I was hoping the WD TV would go faulty for real so when I RMA it, they'd replace it with a new unit tongue.gif

Important message for WDTV Live Streaming (Generation 3) users:
Don't update the firmware to the latest version (2.02.32).

Use the previous firmware 2.01.86.

2.02.32 is full of bugs. sweat.gif

My WDTV remote control is faulty, so I bought a replacement unit from eBay.
Though the replacement unit doesn't look exactly like the original remote, every function & button works perfectly.
The remote also arrives in less than 14 days.

So if you guys have a dead remote as well, you can buy it from this guy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/191493915406

If you can't open the link above, you can find the seller directly from the link below:
