It's actually are "REMARKABLE" issue with all SAGA BLM. For those high rever will definitely get the "tak tak tak" sound for their IAFM module. Meaning that even after changing the IAFM, it will come back in less than 3 months if you always driver like 130-150 KM/h.
If the car is covered under warranty then ok le, else 1 time Rm 380 to change, how can we stand with the cost ? He is selling after market one aluminum type, any one tried that ? http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/eng...e-manifold.html This post has been edited by erictioh: Nov 8 2010, 11:00 AM |

Lol the iafm is not spoil when it got the tak tak sound, its the plunger(valve) has too much free play in it, it in no way affects the function of the iafm only the sound is annoying, it can be fix at any proton sc as they are aware of the problem, simple 15min modification, they take out the valve and shorten it(less free play) then no more sound.
My car change two iafm before they discover whats the issue. Now i always whack the car no problem. |

I never went back for service for 1 year already, so no more warranty. Which SC you went for service to get rid of the sound ?My car change two iafm before they discover whats the issue. Any proton sc can do, its a well known issue, If no more warranty then just pay to get it fix lo, 15min job only, labor should not be expensive unless they want chop you and tells you grandfather story.
Very unwise to ignore the warranty as blm got gearbox and brake defect in some batch, drum brake jam is the most common. |

Thanks for the info, actually i void the warranty is due to the expensive labour and part everytime i went to service, 1 year i could save around RM 800 for not going back to proton SC.Very unwise to ignore the warranty as blm got gearbox and brake defect in some batch, drum brake jam is the most common. |

Wa 800? What wut you service? Usually i buy my own part and let them do the service, cheapest labor is at proton sc at jalan 227 pj, rm60 for normal service.

I mean RM 800 collected through out the year.Hey bro storm, i just ask one of the SC, they say can cut the iafm "stick" for me but then will void the IAFM function already, meaning it will work like no IAFM (gen 2). What you think ? Or they suggest me to change at RM 380 inc labour |

they bullshitting you la, the cutting of the rod is just to eliminate the freeplay, the method is develop by Bosch engineers as a solution to the sound. A new iafm cost 1.4k, I think they trying to make money out of you, suggest you go other sc.
