Dear cable gurus,

Need your advice on cable connections.

I'd like to use the 2x Balanced XLR L & R from my amplifier's Stereo Pre-out to connect to my subwoofer's 1x mono XLR input.

First of all, is this possible and advisable?

So far, I've been getting different opinions.

1. Some say that no, you can't do that because stereo to mono, there will be shorting.

2. Some say yes! But then the sound from L/R will be 'cluttered' when merged into a single mono input.

What are your thoughts?!

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately no. For some reason it only comes with a single mono XLR input and RCA L/R inputs.

But I'm already connecting the RCA L/R inputs to my Pioneer AVR and I don't want to use an RCA switcher.

Prefer not to switch every time I change from movies to music.
