Hi All, Wish to buy a 50" plasma. Wondering between these models, and whether to get Full HD or not, since the price is like 1k difference... LG 50PJ350 (HD Ready) - 2.9k LG 50PK550 (Full HD) - 3.9k Panasonic TH-P50X20K (HD Ready) - 2.8k Panasonic TH-P50U20K (Full HD) - 3.8k I'll be watching Astro Beyond, and probably will get a HD media player. Watching distance is around 10 feet. Any advice please? Thanks in advance! This post has been edited by engleong: Nov 5 2010, 10:16 PM

Get the full HD, 50inch viewing at 10feet, you will notice different between 720 and 1080. if viewing at 20feet, i see no different. This post has been edited by ariff_tech: Nov 5 2010, 10:40 PM

That question if asked 3~4 years back yes...I would agree...because the price of a FullHD 50inch was like 13K!! And there was little or no FullHD support.
Now, things are much cheaper, and there are even budget bluray player, Bluray Disc, Media players, affordable HDMI cables.
Unless you wanna use the TV for business purpose, you should get the best you can afford for your home.

Two people already told me that if you want to watch astro byond better get LCD full HD and dont go for plasma as the latter bring no difference in viewing quality.
Oh yeah one guy was Harvey Norman sales rep and the other one was Astro Byond guy that installed my unit.
As matter of fact that freaking byond is not channelling in full HD, but 1080i only so HD ready should be sufficient for Byond.
I dont know whether these people were telling the truth or not. But i was glad to choose LCD full HD instead. So i can use it for PS3 (BluRay) in 1080p and future 3D.
