We know that it takes more than 65% of population coverage to turn Malaysia into a truly connected nation. Right now, we're expanding our coverage to be in more places, even as you're reading this.

Coverage on highways, railways hmm.gif

QUOTE
Unlike current 3G technology, Yes lets you stay connected on the move, even when you're travelling at a speed of 120km/h. So go on and do all your favourite online activities – trade stocks, stream videos and reply emails while you're in the car (just not while you're driving, of course).

QUOTE
Say goodbye to boring long-distance drives and bus rides. The next time you're on the North-South Highway, you can stay online all the way from Penang to Johor.

QUOTE
Travelling can be a drag. But with Yes, you can play games, check your email and stream your favourite shows the whole time you're on the KLIA Express. Yes, even while travelling at 160 km/h.

No SIM-card
QUOTE
Your Yes ID is the start of your Yes experience. It sets you free from your device, and makes mobile Internet truly mobile. Yes, we're seamless because we're SIM-less.

I suppose it won't work on non-wimax phones? But they seems to understand our problems, would be awesome if other telco follow suit. The current mobile data plans are all ridiculously expensive.

No SIM card is very good news compared to 3G of course!

I would say it is easier to link up with many devices.

Speed is the best u aspect best in australia so far. smile.gif compare to other competitors out there.

QUOTE
Just as copper wires and optical fibre can be owned, some bands (sections) of frequency can be owned or licensed. The frequencies that television and public radio use, for instance, are licensed, as are the frequencies that vividwireless uses. CB radio and Wi-Fi are examples of technologies that use unlicensed spectrum. In Australia we often call the licensed bands of frequency β€˜spectrum’, although spectrum can also sometimes refer to unlicensed frequencies. Vividwireless owns the licence for between 70 MHz and 100 MHz of 2.3 GHz and 3.5 GHz spectrum in every Australian capital city (except Hobart and Darwin). Vividwireless will use 2.3 GHz spectrum for its WiMAX network.

How can a simple WiFi enabled phone have access to WiMax network? Both are using different protocol and hardware. Don't think they'll be broadcasting WiFi all over the place either rclxub.gif

I have no idea why you quoted my post as your comment is totally irrelevant.

Anyway, yes 4G has yet to be finalized. The final will be Advanced LTE. Current LTE as used in US are 3.9G. WiMax tries to get into 4G market but never really make it that much and technically speaking, WiMax is not 4G.

most of those headphone can support internet tithering

sorry my mistake..
gomen only give lte license on year 2013..

no

WIFI and WiMAX is different standard

WIFI use IEEE 802.11 standard

while

WiMAX use IEEE 802.16 standard

both of them use different frequency spectrum to communicate

I hope that it will cover my hometown in Kelantan, duh, why do most companies NEGLECT kelantan? We here only have 1 tesco and 1 parkson in kota bharu.. really sad sleep.gif we want development! For YES, I'm hoping good coverage, can you imagine I'm using celcom USB stick with 1metre USB cable just to get one sometimes two bars of HSDPA coverage? I'm lucky I don't need the USB stick terjulur kat luar tingkap like my friend does hahaha!! Also, if YES can provide good speed with good monthly charge *tho I slightly don't like Pay per use policy*, I think I'm gonna switch to YES.

WIFI and WiMAX is different standard

WIFI use IEEE 802.11 standard

while

WiMAX use IEEE 802.16 standard

both of them use different frequency spectrum to communicate

The service is being done with Samsung hardware. And one of the Samsung staff told they "forced" to do the project with the "lowest" margin. So imagine the quality!!!!

If price is like electricity, maybe it's tiered like this? http://www.aseanenergy.org/publications_st...se/malaysia.htm

I'm also hoping this Yes thing is a good deal. Right now paying for RM68 a month for 3GB mobile quota which I don't even reach + RM88/month on Streamyx, I don't probably don't use 10GB data/month total but paying RM156/month!! Add the money I pay to A$tro, if Yes can give me TV in 1 package pay-per-use I think can save a lot...

is it good without sim card? like the old days when people use Art 900 and Mobifon 800. Very troublesome when changing handphone, cannot borrow friend's handphone anymore (change sim card) when our's low battery.

4G is using 1G style pulak.

Hahhahahah! Serves them right.

Since i had worked with some of those noob korean who run the Yes project, i am sceptical if they could have made it because most of them have major communication problem in english, lack of common sense, arrogant attitude towards local as they felt superior than m'sian probably & even the korean bos(not in Yes but related) who i work with is unreliable/cannot be trusted + conmen! (my salary not even paid) vmad.gif ...so i swear & left with bad/negative exp with these korean...but somehow, yes i believes that 'what goes around comes around'... nod.gif

So, i advice think twice before going for their 'service' as it might be the worst of all isp...

i still think the rate is too expensive. If they can have unlimited plan that is better as we are heavy user here.

Impressive speed wise, not so impressive price wise.

If they really want to challenge the other wireless ISPs, YTL should offer YES at RM1 per GB.

RM3 per 100MB

potong1 is RM89 for 10GB

so YES IS RM300 for the same amount of bandwidth used
