dunno my n8 hang once only...after that i dont dare install apps first unless got newer firmware to update...

update already. Its for the contacts.

if it's apps hang then it can be kill through the task manager (long press menu key to bring up), but if it's the whole S^3 hang then long press the power button it will FORCE the device to shutdown... and if it's DEAD N8 (but not battery depleted issue) then send to NCC.... 

N8 Dead Issues Temporary Solution (save ur data before send to NCC)

I bought my N8 from Honk Kong after waiting for 3 months to have it launched in Market and after 7 days of purchased my N8 got freeze and totally dead .... Now what I'm going to tell you is totally crazy but it worked for my N8 and it got back to life ...

Put your N8 in freezer for 10 mins and when its cold almost like ice take it out and leave it for 5 mins... Then try to switch it on and it will start ....

Above is not permanent solution for it but it work when ever your mobile got hang or freeze... Hope that Nokia will figure out permanent solution for N8...
