Keep on dreaming! But seriously, I think the cheapest branded BD player available locally is the Samsung BD-C5500 and the Philips BDP-3100, both at RM399 at some shops and online. I have the Samsung and you can read more about it in this thread here. Very happy with it so far and it can play all my BD and DVD. thumbup.gif
In my opinion, it is much, much better than getting a HDMI DVD player that cost RM299 for most of the popular brands.

Those getting Bluray player..

Take note it doesn't support VCD....

So if you have hundreds of karaoke VCD or educational VCD for your kids...the Bluray player wont play it smile.gif

Surprise! I just pop in an old VCD into my Samsung BD-C5500 and it played. Wow! However, you cannot access the menu (no PBC on function) but it can play but at wide screen and not at the correct 4:3 ratio. VCD is not listed in the manual for list of playable discs though. So I think other BD players can also play VCD but without the full functions, owner of other brands may want to confirm. But I think playing VCD in a BD player is an overkill, better just use your old DVD player.

As for music CD, no problem at all. MP3 disc also can.
