You guys are really making me jealous with all your N900 antics really, and I might just bite the bullet and get myself a second hand N810 for cheap just to get in the Maemo fun lol.

I mean, I MISS MICROB! And Nok is being REALLY slow and cagey with details regarding the new N9. REALLY.

Seriously, some hype would be nice. Hopefully it means that the N9 will come out polished and flawless - but knowing Nokia.... sweat.gif

I need a photography sifu here
I found this in the fcam API

void autoExpose(Shot *s, const Frame &f,
                    float maxGain = 32.0f,     // ISO 3200
                    int maxExposure = 125000, // 8 fps
                    float smoothness = 0.5);

so if you want longer exposure, more FPS or less FPS?
thanks

yeap...btw, killing it will be temporary...once you restart that certain app might normally run again hence, check the process that takes up the high amount of RAM and uninstall that app smile.gif

Come on man...I've been saying this for ages...Just buy another N900 & join the club again.Sometime this thread gets boring without your tips & tricks.
There are some people selling AP sets from darn cheap price.

Josh's root clearing method does work.I think it clear application installation files. So far no problem clearing those files.

i guess its the same as the ram & cpu usage of ur pc/laptop...each process will consume ram & if ur device (in this case n900) do not have sufficient ram for the process/application, the phone will start to lag, imagine u installed vista ultimate 64 bit with just 512mb ram...well, the same goes to cpu usage...

Yes, your ram usage is 114.91 out of 239.79
239.79 is the maximum available. So your N900 is using 114.91 only, which is 48%

ram usage.114.91mib| 239.79mib 48%
swap usage. 1.13mib| 767.99mib 0%
roots 87.78min| 227.76mib
home 1.62gib| 1.97gib

Normally when your swap usage is high, up to 120MB or more, you might start to experience some lag especially if it hits 150MB. So, if you notice this, you can try restart your N900.

Also, you can install a widget on the desktop to monitor processor and ram usage. If you notice the processor is stuck on 100%, then quickly open HTOP and see which process is causing it and kill it, or if you're unsure you should kill the process, you can do a restart.
