Wow. Seems that all readers here (except me) are so affluent to be able or willing to spend on a tablet to do just light browsing, email and some other basic things. Well done, guys rclxms.gif

let say u just sit down on ur couch and watching movie, but you need information from the net regarding the actor, movie sypnosis (just example) or just want to do a light surfing while sipping ur coffee, so by using tablet it's on the spot, no need to wait windows to boot up,load every startup app just to go online.
Er... I'll use my home pc for that purpose.

LOL!! At last!! Yes, tablet is more to simple things to do.. Surfing and games.. Well, kinda awkward to bring netbook everywhere as we will need to open up the screen lid every time to use it while for tablet just press lock/unlock button, slide the screen or on-screen button to unlock then there you go!! biggrin.gif
Plus, tablet users will get more attention to public rather than netbook or laptop users now because it's too norm nowadays.. nod.gif  nod.gif

guess you've just hit the nail on the head. Getting attention seems to be one of the main factors...

Convenience seems not to be the case though... my boss has a tablet and in order to avoid scratches, he has to put it inside a zipper case. You don't lug a naked tablet around town. Do you? Maybe someone does but don't flaunt it too much otherwise will attract sneaky hands.

If I have the money then I'll have all the gadgets. Smartphone for mobile stuff, tablet to turn eye balls and do some light works, net book for light project and notebook for serious jobs.

While a tablet is certainly more portable than a netbook, it's still not portable enough. Even Mark Zuckerberg says that a tablet is not mobile at all.

Added on November 4, 2010, 10:04 pmoops... I just realised a mistake of mine. This is a thread about tablet but I talked about netbook... surely I'm an alien here. My bad.... sorry chaps sad.gif

Agreed, still wondering though, if they can release Honeycomb on a tablet in the Q1 of 2011, wouldn't that make the release of Gingerbread even sooner?
