Just wanna ask the home theatre sifus here.. currently I have the following controllers which are driving me crazy :-

1 x Astro HD
1 x Pioneer 920 AV amp
1 x TMnet Unify
1 x Philips Bluray DVD player
1 x Whafedale SW-250 subwoofer controller
1 x LG 42in Plasma controller

Is there anyway I can combine all these into 1 controller.. and how do I do it? Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I'm using Sony universal remotes....but it doesn't have a display and with 3 dozen button, not so friendly when in dark situations...
I wanted to get Logitech also, but thinking of my kids broke 2 philips universal remotes...i better wait for them to grow bigger before investing in an expensive remote.

One caution abt getting universal remotes...make sure its has learning functions and take note, most have limited memory space for leaned buttons. Always use a good quality brand battery for it....not those Ikea Batteries...leaky stuff. Is good to add some rubber stickers surrounding it cause Remote do tend to fall while handling. And put the remote in a safe place when you have a toddler around...cos the next thing you will find is your remote in a cup of water..can't blame the baby biggrin.gif

the 525 is rm297 if you can find one, so I suppose 300 for the 880 is very reasonable

Checked a few places including this weekend's IT fair at Midvalley. The best price I got is the HArmony 600 for RM249 at Sri Computer. Most of the shops are selling at RM299. The next step up is the Harmony 900 at RM999 at Compuzone. Decided to go for the entry level to test it out. I liked the full touch screen version but it goes for RM1.4k

even the 600 has learning function, the only difference is that it is a basic unit.. max can control 5 remotes and the screen is black and white.

azbro.. yes I find it too expensive to splurge RM1k+ for a remote also.. thats why got the normal basic unit. Was tempted for the full touch screen version though

Have to differentiate between 'remote control' and 'interligent home automation'
Spend 1k for remote not worth, but if it is an interligent home automation then different story already.

For this kinda price, it would be cheaper to buy and train an Octopus to handle all the remotes.

You: TV 1 on! Radio 2 off! All lights on!

Octopus: Bleep! Bleep! Bleep! Bleep!
