Hey , I got one problem here . Whenever I wear black shoe go to work. My leg will sweat . And the sweat will make my shoe and sock smelly , and make me quite wink.gif if I am inside office due to the smell. I should find shoe that have 'hole' to allow air flow so that wont so smelly or ? Any guys facing this problem? Please give some opinion about it. *My self dun have smelly leg problem if I dun wear black shoe*

Maybe it's the shoes problem? Try put it under the sun for a few hours. Otherwise, buy new shoes or leg spray.

Could be the leather/soles of your shoes have a bad reaction to sweat. I experience this prob when I used a particular brand of shoe. If you don't have a history of foot odour problem, I think this might be the problem. Try using a different brand/material of shoe.

Changing the in-sole sometimes helps, but it did not in my case. I just ditched my shoe, and got a new pair, no prob di.

that's the problem....

shoe without proper ventilation + hot damp weather

bacteria feast on the sweat and release the characteristic smell.

solution:
change shoe
make the "environment" colder and drier

so does this mean that your feet are not smelly when you are wearing other types of shoes?
if so, it must be your black leather shoes then.

try putting it under the sun. change socks everyday.
and use a normal powder or a medicated powder on your feet before wearing socks.

change socks, use deodarant

but sometimes its just body odour
when u take off your socks, go toilet and wash your feet with soap
make it smell good again

when leaving guest hse or anything put back on ur socks
repeat if u visit other people
sometimes we have no choice;

Guess you have a solution TS. And you did mentioned that your feet will only smell if you're wearing black shoe. Which means the problem is not with your feet but with your shoe.

agnesia antiseptic powder.... use it everytime u want to wear sock.

and if u want to wash ur socks, soak em in dettol and water mixture 1st.. thats gonna at least reduce the smell if not so significant next time u wear the sock.. works for me

i used to have smelly feet...and it's due to material of the shoes itself...not about colour or somethign else...

i am quite sweaty...but if using correct material of shoes, it should be ok...

generally (not necessarily) cheap shoes will give this kind of prob...together with breathable features of the shoes, and also the socks...can avoid this problem again

one more thing, i normally get the prob if i use thick socks...if going to office, thin socks (like alain delon...can get 3 pairs for onli 15 bucks at any supermarket) is the most suitable for me

hope this helps

I'm having the same problem too. But I change it to charcoal soal and it doesn't smell anymore no matter how much your feet sweats.

Don't use deodorant as it would worsen your situation over long period and making your skin cracked.

Brew two tea bags in one quart of warm water and soak your feet for ten minutes every night for a week. It will help.

I use baking soda. 1 or 2 pinches works like a charm and cheaper than deodorant src: Wiki "Foot Odor"

Wash the shoe if possible, or put under the sun, or change the sole...

IMHO,
I am sure no matter what colour shoe your wear, your feet will still sweat, as m'sia weather is so hot... After weeks or months, as your sweat all absorbed into the shoe and sole, the bacterial and fungus will start to grow inside. When the bacterial and fungus attack your feet or react with your sweat, your feet start to smells...

HAHAHAHA.....the solution to global sweaty feet problems... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

@TS: well I do have the same problem as you. wear socks made from natural materials like cotton and wear properly-fitting leather shoes that allow your feet to breathe. let your shoes dry-out properly before wearing them again. what I can suggest is that you get this the shoe sole from Scholl, the odour control ones. And also you can use the Foot spray and shoe spray from them as well. These are preventative methods for your sweaty feet.

And if your office permits, bring a pair of sandals when ur in the office. Take your shoes off and walk around with the sandals. It helps in the odour as well. icon_rolleyes.gif
