steam offer are cheaper anyway. l4d series are not that cheap.

The retail pack is off course region locked.

And you can come during the event day to buy. The offer is still in effect.

I have friends who bought retail and could not play the game when they are overseas.

This will be a good chance to teach everyone what true FPS should be instead of those online FPS with item mall to buy overpowered guns

problem is, frags, some of the time (and in these particular instances i think it is indeed the case) those guys are just temporarily there, like students and such. while it is stated that the games are not for sale outside of the region, its not well advertised that even if you own them here, and just happen to be there for a bit, you lose your access.

That is secondary. When I click on TF2, I know I'm in need of LULZ & something to get all those gloomy clouds out of my head.

Yeah but people should be knowledgeable enough these days to understand how this region lock thing works. It's not just a video games thing. It's a software thing. Vendors sell region specific software all the time. Some people think about taking advantage of this and buy games not meant for their region to save money. When it has problems they claim ignorance.

just for your side note, after 1st game installation, u much probably wont be using that disc anymore
those game got tons of updates, u dont wanna install from vanilla again, instead backup existing game file and restore it works much better

Me think... maybe Valve games aren't the best choice to introduce people to ori gaming? I'd imagine buying a game and having to wait hours until their games finish updating isn't going to be pleasant to most people, not to mention having to go through a troubled Steam update process (Hotspot Shield, anyone/everyone?)

It's kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

If you want a great game to be completely balanced & bugless, it's going to take a long time to get the game onto the market. Fans will be going rage with Operation CWAL everywhere & claimed that the developers are ignoring their sentiments.

If a game is without any update, fans will claim that the developers are abandoning the game & no longer provide any support or intention to balance the game play.

If a game is with constant updates & patches, you're claiming that it's not a good game to introduce to those who are new to the buy original see original campaign.

Last but not least, the Steam login issue that you mentioned there is actually our local ISP issue, not Steam's.

So any other games that doesn't need to be updated that you can recommend? LOL

Just to continue the discussion on whether Steam is the best item to show to first time original users, personally I think it's a must.

Like it or not, Steam or any similar platforms to it, will be the future. The digital platform and delivery system will be here to stay and the faster that people recognize it and use it, the easier will the transition be.

I think now is a great time. Since we are starting to get broadband speeds of connection (in most areas anyway), Steam is a great platform to take advantage of this.

I went and sapu 2 copies of TF2 just now. They open a bit late bit all is good.

1. Buy 5 Orange Boxes
2. Wait until end of the year....
3. Sell them with 50% more of the originally bought price
4. Profits!

Starting from tomorrow, KPDNKK will start to auction some products from e-Club booths at different times. The auction will start from RM 1 and will continue to an indefinite amount. As with bidding, you might be able to get the product at an even lower price than what we have at our booth!

The products are:-
1) Counter-Strike: Anthology
2) Left 4 Dead (1)
3) Team Fortress 2

The auction times are random and will be done at the stage at the entrance of the hall.

Last time I bought Orange Box, I got HL2: Episode 1 DVD instead of HL2. End up I just used the cd-key to download HL2. That was 3 years ago. I see eclub haven't changed.

E-club is booth 36. and... wat the hell la... There write got free DoD in CSS, I ask them they say "sorry offer over" if nt I edi buy from steam that day... offer also so cheap..

Sorry about that. Our designer used an old graphic for the flyer and didn't check. I am really sorry about that.

About the Half-Life problem, the dvd might have a problem but the cd-key will still work regardless. The game will be downloaded automatically via Steam.

who got the orange box? where the hell is the activation code? It was prompted when I tried to restore the backup...
