nah..technology is like tat..we can never catch up with it..right now u get the latest gt680 with gtx460m and so on..but hu noes in the near future 3 -4 months later..they release gt690 with maybe i9 + hd6000 series mobile gc that pawns the gt680 even more?

so my advice is, enjoy what you have..don't set ur mind in chasing it too much tongue.gif

anyway, i manage to snap some comparison picture between the m15x and our laptop tongue.gif..sorry for the messy background..din have a proper background to snap with + im on a rush tat day tongue.gif

MSI GT680 for performance-wise in my opinion compared to the m15...but TBH I was poisoned by the m15x by its design, luckily viruz helped me out with his advice and i got through it.I've carried the gt680 to my college in a sling bag and its already a pain to your shoulder.I could not imagine what will happen if i were to take the m15x and hurt my spine and my shoulders to a further extend.

For the guys out there who have trouble making this decision,m15x to go if you prefer the bling bling and design type, but gt680 if ur looking for performance+enhanced audio performance.Plus, you've also gotta think if you're doing a presentation in college/university/work,the impression of using the msi and AW has a huge gap..how so?Well, you wouldnt wanna let people see how "bling bling"your laptop is huh?For those who wouldn't mind then all I can say is up to you.If you wanna look presentable and ready to present a matured document,MSI definitely win this bet. There are always pros and cons in everything so you will have to consider every aspect you want and your seeking for smile.gif

I've been using the 1st version of the GT680R now for 2months and havent encounter any problems with it yet.Yes of course i took care of it properly smile.gif.Just a word from my mouth,I've been through some AW discussions and happen to see some people are suffering troubles with their AW product once they got it or something like that, somehow the MSI is just a good piece of work sent to your doorstep in a perfect condition.

The Alienware M15X was definitely designed perfectly and its an eye-capturing product. Also,I am sure most of us are attracted to its chiclet keyboard which has LEDs below it that allows us to customize the colour by using the AlienFX when we're having party to show off or whatsoever. But trust me,I've also heard that this LEDs spoil easily if you keep using them, you wouldn't wanna see your keyboard blinking as though a bulb had fused but some current still made it through and lights it up,making it look ugly,we wouldn't want that now do we? sweat.gif .Still, based on my experience of suffering the poison of AW,I finally see it through that what I really wanted wasn't a piece of artwork, but the quality in it,that is the performance+audio that MSI has build in this laptop, the GT680R.

Yeah Viruz,MSI's releasing the GT780 which will possessed the ATI 6 series or the Nvidia 5-series,technology....oh well :\,as long as I am enjoying with my GT680R now, then it wouldnt be a matter XD.

Anybody who's still confused between the m15x and the gt680r,you can always look up on reviews and how are the laptops doing so far in terms of long-term usage and its performance.A fact that I can't deny regarding MSI,is their embedding of Dynaudio's technology into these laptops. The audio is magnificent or I can say....EPIC smile.gif

I agree with huyified..too bad..there's another contender right around the corner which is the Asus g53..i will do a full review on all 3 of em once i get my hands on them

well as u were saying..presentation..some presentation may require audio and video..this is where the MSI becomes really handy with their superb Dynaudio speakers! haha

Though i do have to agree that M15x feels a lil more solid than the MSI but im still satisfied with what i have..and btw, the m15x is not considered chiclet keyboard..regarding weight..as we said earlier, it's true that the m15x is a lot heavier..as it's original purpose is to work as a desktop replacement

MSI do have their bling as well..the orange lightning tongue.gif..i like to put it at breathing mode..jz love tose effect..but now i set my laptop to not run the msi led manager when i start up..cause kinda waste memory

and there's a few thing im quite confused with the laptop design somehow

for example, they shud have place the caps lock indicator, the num lock indicator..

at the touch pad area..i seriously dn get the idea why they want to place a moon logo there..*im no tsure what it is bt whenever my laptp is on..the light wil be on..and the touchpad have this 3 lights..i would like it to light up when my touch pad is in use..not when i disable it sad.gif..takes away the bling bling effect when we turn on their led tongue.gif

lastly, all MSI user, can u tell me..there's this "Windows Key" in between the turbo fan and Power on button..wat issit used for? O_O

oh yeah, im goin to order 3x anti glare screen protector..1 for myself..2 more..who wan pls pm me! biggrin.gif..price i dn tink will be attractive..but i can guarantee it's high quality wink.gif

Yup, the lack of keyboard LED backlight, num lock and caps lock indicators bugs me a little, especially when typing in the wrong password for a few times just because the locks are on and I don't know anything about it, although I personally don't care much about the bling effect though biggrin.gif. 3.7kg is quite light for gaming laptop standards, but still is a pain in the arse to carry around, especially around the university campus to my classes, that hurts my back alot sad.gif . It functions surprisingly well for school work though, thanks to the 9-cell batteries and the powerful Wi-Fi receivers.

By the way, the "Windows key" you mentioned, it is to prevent you from accidentally pressing the Start Menu button while gaming.

anyway, regarding the weight..well try n get urself a comfortable bag..i'm using crumper laptop messenger bag and i find it really comfy brnging it around with me biggrin.gif..or u can opt for a good backpack..bags with those padding for u to rest u shoulder on can really help you avoid the "painful" feeling carrying a laptop around biggrin.gif

I would prefer a bagpack honestly. A sling back like that looks nice and i dont mind spending the money if its worth it. Having a sling back, puts pressure only on one shoulder. Very bad thing to have IMHO.It's better to have a backpack that looks cool and at the same time distributes the pressure evenly on both shoulders. at least if you're going to get muscular shoulders, it'll be both shoulders at the same time. LOL

My knowledge of anti-glare from my iphone is that it's really thick. Well if we're going to look at the screen for long hours, without having occasional glares from surrounding lights reflecting on the screen would be nice. I mean like, syok syok gaming and watching movie, tiba2 got this annoying white light at the side or the middle. Straight beh syok. lol

actually an msi officer gave me a call, because i need the laptop urgently. they told me to call courts to see if i can ask them to make it a special case for me to get the laptop asap because the new gt680r is not expected to hit shelves until mid-march. I'm already almost 2 months behind time on all of my work which frustrates me the most. I'm not sure what is going to happen now because both sides have not called me back at all. Which is saddening. I have a feeling I will have to wait until mid-march, so im actually thinking of whether to go through with pre-ordering at 6999 with a netbook or 6299 for just the notebook at courts. dilemma

If it doesn't take up too much of your time, sure. I wouldn't mind if you ask for me. brows.gif

Added on March 4, 2011, 11:49 amI'm really suffering with the lack of a mobile device to work with. Since my desktop isn't going to be back in a month. No one is replying me on any news on the gt680r. If by next week I'm no where near it, I have no choice but to get a MacBook instead. Programming, virtual Os running, router simulation. The reason I wanted gt680 is cuZ of the high memory module, powerful processor and battery life. I really don't want to be on the MacBook side. I have a gaming rig already. So gaming isn't much of a problem for me. Argh. Somebody save me ! I'm 2 months behind time already. My
Gf's laptop is nowhere near able to substitute for my desktop

probably it's 1 year by Courts and the other year by MSI malaysia, you can PM MSI-MY regarding that

and @razorboy: Regarding the GT680..i think should be soon, since they are having their MSI pagent, and it's under GT680..so should be anytime soon..estimate by this month smile.gif..or maybe u can persuade MSI-MY to share with u the news wink.gif AHA
