So far, I've been living with it for several months and I think I need to remap it to make my documenting more efficient XD

I manage to map the scroll lock but I failed to map the pause break key, I don't get it.. =/

Man, more poison, MSI really did a great job so far.. Would love to see what's in store for these laptops.. A GTX670m? =)

ASUS is also catching up with G55 and G75..

Anyway, I think the refreshed Dynaudio would sound a lot more powerful than before, orgasmic! XD

hey lonelywolf90, i heard there is like some issues with the steelseries keyboard like the GE620DX keyboard, is that true?
do you have any issues with your notebook?
*
None at all, never came across any problems so far except for a RAM failure that I replaced already.

Not even with my previous GT780R.

What kind of issue are you talking about? Maybe a little more specific and I might be able to help =)

i don't know it happens to GT780 model or not la.... i see a few reviews that the keyboard is like after press the key it doesn't spring back up and the touchpad is not that responsive...
i will be waiting for the GE60/70 to come out then only decide what to buy... dont wanna rush this kinda thing
*
It does happen, but not to me at least.. I don't think it's such a frequent case, it's a minor flaw.. Even if it does happen, you can go for a keyboard replacement, that's no hustle since MSI is getting faster in terms of response time, really..

Touchpad is responsive, mine is a Synaptics, this brand is popular, so how can it not be that responsive?

Well, the GE60/70 is months away (for Msia, I suppose), it will be middle range gaming notebooks.

And the 600 series are only refurbished models of the 500 series, I'm talking about GPU..

But the new starfighter design does look more attractive =)

And the GE series will have Steelseries keyboard, that's a big plus. I hope the anti-ghosting feature is there though..

Not forgetting the new Dynaudio speakers, it's gonna blow your mind away XD

QUOTE(hironobu85 @ Mar 5 2012, 05:28 PM)
thanks for the info =)

anyways just went over and got the notebook already because I don't think I can wait for months because my assignments and all can't be delayed and therefore decided to just get it anyways coz with the customer service from MSI-MY and Sanko I don't think I have to worry much about it...
Synaptics?? don't know about that but should be all the same one right? for MSI lappies? anyways mine is fine with a little rough surface for the touchpad~
I guess I am just scaring myself... doh.gif

the 600 series from what I checked from Nvidia web its refurbished so it can support later updates as well.

yea but I am still the old kinda guy that still prefer slick and simple instead of flashy so its fine.

the only gripe i have is the steelseries keyboard... anti-ghost feature? can explain??
the GE620DX also comes with Dynaudio as well so its fine, its just a newer model of it

and i slap on a 120GB Corsair Force 3 straight away! hahaha.....
now they aren't getting it anymore and they are just trying to clear stock for the old models... maybe thats why so cheap at the moment...

TO MSI! *raise his glass* LoL  rclxm9.gif
*
Lol, the 'poison' has taken over you XD

U definitely don't have to worry about customer service, been through that, nothing but compliments for them =)

U just check ur touchpad settings at control panel to determine if it's Synaptics or not.. I'm not too sure about the GE620DX.

Anyway, u'll be fine, just adapt to it, I once had a hard time adapting to the SteelSeries keyboard, now I'm fine with it wink.gif

The 600 series will see a bump in performance especially for high end ones I suppose, the GTX670m is said to be as powerful as the GTX580m or better.

That's why I'm so looking forward to the GT70 now =)

Nice SSD, Corsair Rocks, I love my Corsair Performance Pro as well!

My brother is currently using his Force 3 60GB, no problems so far.

I'm happy for you too *cheers*

that could be true, but GTX670M is rumoured to be a rebadge of GTX570M with higher clock blush.gif
*
You're right, it'll be clocked higher and has the performance close to a GTX580m, but I can't be sure about this, gotta keep catching up with news XD

QUOTE(astria @ Mar 6 2012, 01:34 PM)
shouldn't be rebadge... the GPU of GeForce 600 are given a new codename, which means a new architecture is used...
*
Yup, the Kepler.. I look forward to the 700 series for a refreshed version of the Kepler.. I hope by then, PCIe 3.0 will be applied..

I seem to be having trouble with my notebook, seem to constant blue screen

and says the dumping physical memory or something like that then it just restarts.....
but I have installed all of the drivers for win7 64bit but don't know if it will work or not..... has anyone have this problem? or a way to fix this? anyway to access the system recovery drive at the original HDD? since I switched to SSD and can't use the drive to reinstall it even i encase the HDD into an external drive.

will search around the internet for solutions as well
*

I got a feeling it's the RAM, do a memory test =)

Try Memtest86+, used it before, it's effective in detecting memory errors.

I will BUG u guys even its midnight! hahaha jk jk

i capture a screenshot of the memtest with my phone, is it suppose to show the errors or how should I know what is happening?? i half expect its either the memory or the SSD, I am not sure as to which 1 is it and I couldn't switch it myself since its going to void the warranty if I do...

if i can't solve the problem tonight by reinstalling the windows, I will head over to kelana jaya service centre for help there la
*
Yes, the one in red are the errors, I'm quite sure that your RAM is experiencing fault. Try removing the RAM one by one(provided u know how otherwise enquire for aid) and do the test again to determine which RAM is causing the fault. There are 4 RAM slots(2 under keyboard and 2 just at the bottom cover).

With RAM at fault, you are bound to face installation problems since the memory can't be loaded.

Consult from MSI-MY or Sanko wink.gif

Bummer, got it for a few days this kinda thing happens... anyways i placed my laptop in the e-maintainence service centre for 2 days...
if it takes more than 2 days I am gonna go on a enrage rampage! hahaha

MSI using lousy memory?? they using elixir memory though, what type of brand is that? never heard before wan
Sanko/MSI-MY: I wanted to flash the bios with an update but I don't really know how to, since the one that MSI gave is a little vague to understand
*
Did you refer to the pdf link?

http://www.msi.com/html/pdf/Flash_BIOS_SOP.pdf

Elixir isn't lousy memory.. I believe Elixir is popular for their mobile RAMs only, even I've never heard much about them..

But I gotta tell u this, they won awards, 4 times in a row from 2007-2010. Therefore, they are reliable. MSI won't be choosing lousy products for us, they are selective too for quality reasons.

Maybe you'd like to check Elixir out?

maybe its just I unlucky la~ just wanna blame it on something...  cry.gif
i try checking them out online but not much info on them... hahaha okok.....MSI must have poison you to the roots liao~ LoL
but yea i agree they have won a lot of awards but I don't really trust awards nowadays... seen too many discrepancies in it to even wanna care... in the end, good item is good item no matter if they get 0 award also...

anyways my touchpad is sentillac... its fine, just that the buttons cannot use thumb to press coz it needs quite a force to press it

i checked elixir website out but just for a brief moment only la...
dropped off my laptop at service centre, hope it get fixed soon so i can play ME3 at work

anyways have read the pdf before and i got stuck because when i click the bios, i couldn't proceed because its says that it doesn't work on windows 7 64bit
*
Nah, not really poisoned, just that I've really made my comparisons in the past before deciding on purchasing this rig.

Now I'm currently checking out the ASUS G55 and G75, they seem to be powerful too.

You could upgrade the RAMs later on if you're still facing problems, haha. Go for Corsair or Kingston HyperX RAMs, awesome! XD

Sentellic is slightly different, just need time to adapt then you're gonna be ok =)

Huh? That's odd, it worked for me,I last referred to the pdf files on MSI and it was smooth-sailing.

hi. i wanna ask if someone here had done RMA for his notebook to their reseller. what the best courrier in term of reliablity & of course in prices? one of my memory stick need to be replaced because of having error in memtest86.
*
Where are u located at? Might as well u just inform MSI-MY about your current problem and let them have the memory stick be sent to the nearest service center convenient to you.

For my case, I usually do it at Low Yat. Courier is expensive and there's no guarantee that your laptop will be safe XD

For a start, tell MSI-MY or Sanko your problem, then see how it goes =)

I'm in Sarawak & found nearby SC around here. But Im a bit hesitate to send my laptop to SC, this machine cost a bomb, I'm scared if the technician will messed the other things that not broken beforehand. I already identified the bad RAM & Ken Lee said I can RMA just the RAM only & no need to send the whole laptop. If MSI SC can accept with that kinda RMA, I could never been happier to send it to nearest SC.  unsure.gif
*
U got it from Ken Lee? Haha =D

Well, I'm sure MSI will allow you to replace the RAM IMMEDIATELY, just inform them in advance so they can prepare you the replacement for your faulty RAM wink.gif

You don't have to leave the laptop at the SC, just bring it there and do a quick replacement. Then, you're off to go.

Remember to show them the screenshot of your MemTest diagnostics, it's prove that you have a faulty RAM.

Btw, did u test which RAM in particular is the faulty 1?

Otherwise, how would u know which to replace?

Nice one, thumbs up to ya wink.gif

If you're able to detect which is the faulty RAM, that would ease the job of the service centre which makes your laptop RAM replacement much faster.

Now, just tell MSI and get it replaced =D

That's my main concern,  i dont want to leave my laptop there.  im still consulting MSI-MY whether he can arrange on the spot replacement. if not i will have send the bad RAM to my reseller in US.
*
No no, you don't have to! Just get on the spot replacement, sending it back to US is just not worth it..

I'm using a GT780DX-446US, I got replacement at Low Yat.

Therefore, wait for MSI-MY reply, you seriously don't have to send the bad RAM to your reseller at US =)

i thought MSI laptops come with 1yr int'l warranty?
*
Even so, I don't think the shipping fee is covered.. Usually, we would be advised to get in contact with the most convenient or nearest service centre of MSI.

Speaking about 1 year international warranty, my worry begins in November when my 1 year international warranty ends, haha.. sweat.gif

Windows version?

I did mine via booting from usb drive.. What memtest are u using anyway?

By any chance Memtest86+?

yeah, it's bit troublesome to use. http://hcidesign.com/memtest/
I prefer Memtest86+, easy & reliable. I already did thorough test with Memtest86 & my friend recommend to me to go with Prime95 also. With that 2 tests, returned me an error results I really think it should be enough.
*
Memtest 86+ should be good enough actually, at least it's effective as compared to the normal Windows Memory Diagnostic tool.

Anyway, good luck with what you're doing =)

Btw, did you get your wifi card upgraded? Or the CPU?

After all, you got it from the US XD

any1 who experienced buy laptop from gentechpc, may i know is it just have to wire transfer the "exact" amount to their company account?? because i saw some ppl say that when transferring to US account, there is intermediate bank that will charge fees, at the end there might be $20-$30 lesser, so have to transfer 2nd time again.... so how??  thanks in advance for helping me....
*
Ya, just confirm with GenTechPc about the amount that you have to transfer, then just wire transfer the EXACT AMOUNT to their company account =)

Sometimes when the currency changes during the time of your transfer, then that's your bad luck but it rarely happens =)

Just transfer ASAP when you enquired the amount from GenTechPc then it shouldn't be a problem.

What you planning to buy? wink.gif

ok, thanks dude

i'm getting MSI-16F2, the barebone series. its much cheaper than the main MSI series
*
For what reason are u getting the barebone version? The extra money goes to the upgrades or are you on a budget?

You better think twice about this, warranty will be your concern. I don't know if this warranty is under MSI, you ought to ask your dealer. It's only 1 year as I know, I'm not sure if it's even global.

Not only that, you'll lose the great aesthetics which is an eye candy drool.gif

You're better off getting Sager instead since it has cheaper upgrade cost and Sager is more custom-friendly, I suppose hmm.gif

Since you're using a barebone, u can't use MSI Afterburner for overclocking the GPU. Instead, u'll b using the Nvidia Inspector.
