Hi all the sifus,

I've got a Panny L42U LCD screen (full HD). Just subscribed Astro - but I am subscribing normal package only. When I use normal analog cables it's works properly, but when I use HDMI, no sound, no visuals... nothing. Why ah? I am really lost - been trying to work around the menus on both the Byond PVR and also the Panny... but no luck! I thought it's just plug and play sad.gif Please help. Thanks.

EDIT: Just found out the reason..... apparently it's locked if I dont subscribe to HD channels. sad.gif SIGH.

Ok - another thing, the image on the SD looks really blurry... even when comparing with other people's SD channel. Could be due to the length of the cable from my dish to the decoder? It's at least 25 feet long. Someone suggested I get a booster. Where do I get one, and which is the best in terms of value? Thanks.

you can call Astro and ask them to activate your HDMI port....I've got customer like that also, got b.yond decoder but on normal Astro package only, so I ask them to call astro to activate the HDMI port and within 24 hours, they cam use the HDMI to output to their TV

Even if you can connect to your TV using the HDMI port from Astro, the quality will still be SD. Not sure if your TV can do some upscaling but nothing like having a HD source. So to do justice to your LCD TV, subscribe to Astro B.yond! Othewise is like driving a ferrari in kampong road! doh.gif

Economies of scale, Astro wants to standardize one decoder. Forget the old decoder, gone to museum.
Of course, no pay HD RM20, no HD channels la.
