That's the maximum pay scale an AVP can achieve... If let say you got no promotion but only increment, your pay will be stuck there forever until they promote you further to VP.

It really depends on which department you're assigned to. Banking these days are very specialized. You might be stuck doing the same thing for the rest of your tenure with the bank unless you request for an internal transfer or quit.
