Allow me to share my opinion on this issue.

I am sympathetic towards the plight of female forumers here. Their concerns are legitimate. However, i also question the proposal, especially the effectiveness of this proposal of having "tag" of female replies only thread.

It may only solve part of the problem. Gender tag can be changed. Some people do not have gender tag too. The proposal will only heighten the scrutiny of gender tag which i think is superficial. The very basis of TS and the proponents to have this proposal is to prevent..

Example of view from this thread:

The TS basis is to prevent unnecessary reply on the GC board. Hence, i believe that people should look at the problem and solving it, not a short-term solution which may cause implications such as judging people........."purely" on gender tag. What they decide on gender tag, is personal issue, but we need to look at more important thing such as the quality of the post.

Solutions?

1. Get one more moderator who is active in GC.

- Moderators, i believe they are humans too. They have real world life that they need to tend to.

2. Change the guidelines (Rules and Regulations) for posting such as people who post sexist comments might be held liable.

Introducing tags will not work, what is needed is the participation of forummers, such as girls to report any comments such as sexist ones....and they need to be educated on what is not acceptable or sexist, or something which do not contribute in answering the problem of any TS who start threads here.

Judging people based on gender tag is unfair, i suggest look at the weight and quality of posting instead.

Conclusion : Tag introduction will not work. Participation from "stakeholders" (especially girls who participate in this board) is important and also look at the quality of the comments instead of gender tag alone.

There are some existing rules which are rarely enforced from what i see and this is just my opinion.


The basis is there. Enforcement of rules, more important.

The rules can be tweaked to serve the needs of GC better. What kind of tweaking? Only girls who do participate on this board knows. It should upheld this board is for girls to console, to ask the opinion of things that are of female nature. However, constructive replies from anyone, should be welcomed.

What with the winning attitude? hahaha. Dude, you should read it yourself. sound like very pathetic. Like "nobody wanna be my friend so i become sore losers.". Heheheh.

You girls know what? We should snap out of it and stop replying to those opposing to the idea, and yet have nothing to contribute. They do nothing but aggravate and damn, they're abrasive! 

And why are we letting men dictate what GIRL's Club should be? It's for girls, and it's a club. The exclusivity of a club simply evades idiots.

If girls wanna talk about their 'pettiness' (as quoted by negativity), then why let it be questioned? Don't like it, don't join the discussion! If the men don't like it, GTFO. You don't see many men in female forums, that cos they don't like, they GTFO. So if men in lyn don't like Girl's Club, GTFO!

Having a poll makes it clearer but there is still for discussion. I, too, thinks the gender tag is not a good solution as discussed in sticky thread by goldfries. But that doesn't mean the stats of poll is a finality. I suggested simply to cos I was lazy to see if majority supports or not. And like all, I too knows when a poll failed due to technicality and sample contamination. So cheers. It's Internet.

I saw it and i do agree that it happens.

That is why i suggest, tweaking some rules and regulations.

At the same time, the power is more on girls to report any breaches.

When there is action being taken, naturally, it may help to reduce future breaches.

is this kind of post still not violating R&R in LYN? Sounds like a direct challenge to the moderating team as well.

That is right. We are not living in heaven. We have to adapt with what we got. Can you see a what a troll is doing in this topic? sad ya? how a girl can engage a meaningful discussion if troll keep spamming.

That is why a combination of...

Active moderator + active observation and participation (also scrutiny) from girls = big difference

Not foolproof (due to the context), but it will help to reduce replies that can be deemed not constructive.

That is plan I have in mind. Shooting would not give any different. That why I proposing the addendum of rule as the tool. And don't mind the boy. He just fail trolling. hehehe

If Moderators in Girl forum do really pay attentions to this Girls Club, i`m sure they will do their work removing those topics that are like..

Honestly speaking, I doubt there'll be changes to GC other than having more rules to adhere and mods enforcing.

Did you guys know that in mobile version, you can't see any tags except mods, elite, staff admin VIP...? No sigs either. I once propose for gender tags to be displayed in mobile version and admin asked "for what". Looks like GC is the farthest thing in their mind.
