I have this account. It is my primary day-to-day transaction account now. As far as i am concerned, you get the same 1 day priority booking just like the Air Asia credit card. This applies to all sort of promotions Air Asia is having.

correct!

AA promo for RM0 fare is NEVER offer 1 day priority booking!

the priority booking promos are usually for RM5, RM25 ticket.

No. I have done this only through my CIMB Basic Savings Account. Anyway, the IBG fee for Air Asia Savers Account really is just RM2. The RM5 stated in their website has absolutely nothing to do with IBG and i am not sure what is that about.

I'm planning to open an CIMB AirAsia Savers Account. On the website, its stated that the interest rate is 1.40% p.a. flat, no tiers - CIMB AirAsia Savers Account - Interest Rate

This is somehow an higher percentile of interest compared to other savings account right?

Also, the high interest rate of 1.40%, up to 2.60% p.a. (inclusive of the RM5 cash back if average balances of at least RM5,000 with no over-the-counter transaction in any day of the month) seems like an very interesting offer as almost 100% of my banking transactions are done online - thus giving me more reasons to open up this account.

Currently have savings accounts with Maybank & Public Bank.

Looking for an alternative savings account to maintain upper 4 figures to 5 figures savings.

Would this be an viable option? hmm.gif

Lets say if I maintain RM 5000 throughout the year...
The incentive & interest gain p.a would be RM70 + RM60 (Monthly incentive for maintaining RM5000/month) = RM130.
So it is actually 2.6% p.a rclxms.gif

I did receive the SMS regarding the priority booking. But when I log in and check for the fair, it's still the same and doesn't seem to be with the offer price. How would the system knows that we are actually the airasia saver account holder? I'm kinda confused..

Currently I do not get attraction on its interest because AffinPlus offers 2.8% for balance > RM20k. The highest in the town.

I am in consideration just on the airasia promotion and privilege on booking tickets. Wonder if it is true. Seem others commented that the promotion fare is same as usual.

As mentioned, if you intend to maintain a figure of RM5k++ then its worthwhile to go for it....otherwise, you can opt for other options.

Hi, I am 19 year old student who just opened my cimb savings account (for ptptn purpose)
The whole process was completed in half and hour, including activation of cimbclicks, the lady did not explain to me about the types of accounts they provide though, so i assume that i've just opened a regular saving account, or maybe a youth saver account because i do see the "youth service" option at the left options panel. As soon as i logged in i noticed that there's actually a CIMB AirAsia account which pays much higher interest rate (regular one pays 0.4%)

My plan is to maintain the ptptn fund in the account to yield interest over my period of study. Hence, is it possible for me to switch my account type? I also see the Account Opening option under "manage my account" , does it mean that i could just open another new account via online and transfer my deposits from the existing one to the new one? Would i get a new atm card for it? Please advice. smile.gif

You do not need to close your existing savings account at CIMB Bank. You can just open another account (Air Asia Savers Account) and this can be done online. You will be prompted to choose your preferred branch and i suggest that you choose the same branch or any other branch that's near to where you're staying. If your existing savings account is not a basic savings account, then you can just tag this new account to your existing ATM card. This way you only need to pay RM8 annual fee for the ATM card once. Anyway, i'm pretty sure yours not a basic savings account because banks such as CIMB Bank doesn't usually open the basic savings account for their customers unless specifically requested so.

how do i check my account type? In cimbclicks it shows that my account type is "savings account", it does not specify. By tagging the new account to the existing card means i get to access to two different accounts with one card?

CIMBClicks doesn't state whether you have a regular or basic savings account. You will need to check with their CS.

No passbook.

You have to depend on the online statement in CIMBClicks.

Min amount should be RM 50.

i think the answer is no, at cimb website, it say "inclusive of the RM5 cash rebate if average balances of at least RM5,000 with no over-the-counter transaction in any day of the month"

The interest rate is only 1.2%. You'll get additional RM5 if you maintain a balance of at least RM5000 and do no over the counter transactions.
The 2.4% is when you add 1.2% of RM5000 and RM5. So, at RM5000, you'll get 2.4%. At RM6000, you'll get 2.2%. The calculations are assuming you get RM5 rebate every month for a year.
Basically, you'll get the highest returns in % if you have just RM5000 in account. Any amount higher or lower, you'll get a lower return in %

Hi all,
I have one doubt regarding to the priority booking. How AirAsia website able to identify whether the login user is AirAsia Saver's account holder? Is it we must use AisAsia Saver's account to make the payment? Is it everyone who login one day before the public announcement of special fare will enjoy the same benefit?

I applied mine via cimb clicks. Look for "Apply For" on top of page after you logged in cimb clicks.

Want to ask, anyone receives the RM5 incentive interest for December month? I didn't receive mine even though I pass RM5K average and no OTC transactions. The customer service also sucks and when I call, totally have no idea what is Airasia Saving account and ask me to call CIMB....=.=

Thanks for the reply. I guess it's just me

Just wondering why I didn't get mine. I got mine in November and the only difference is that I did make some gold purchase and also did some FD placement online during December. But my balance still remain above RM5k throughout the month....unless they count gold purchase and FD as OTC transaction?

the only incentive to open this account is you are a loyal AA flight passenger because you can transfer you money to BIG card without fees, and BIG card is the only card you can buy AA tickets without any fees, even Direct transfer also incur fees now.

Bear in mind that, you will need to link your CIMB Bank AirAsia Savers Account to BIG membership account in order to earn points. You can link it at http://www.tune2big.com/cimb-aa-form/

It is most likely due to your Air Asia Savers Account is your secondary account in your ATM/debit card.

IBG fee is the same as other accounts which is RM0.10/transfer via CIMBClicks. For the card, make sure you request for a normal ATM card instead of a debit MasterCard as the annual fee for ATM card is lower at RM8/pa only. For the CIMB debit MasterCard, the ATM card annual fee is RM15/pa.

1. You have to tell the staff that you want the ATM card (without debit MasterCard function) and sometimes you have to insist for it as sometimes ill-informed staff may tell you CIMB Bank no longer issue the old ATM card.

2. If you want the Air Asia Savers Account, then you need to tell the staff specifically that you want him/her to open the Air Asia Savers Account for you. If you say nothing at all when you go to open a savings account, they may open a regular savings or a basic savings account or may be Air Asia Savers for you.

You can keep your old account even if you have open a joint-account. It's same as individual saving account where you can do daily transactions.

To be able to transfer between the account.. Need to link the saver account with your saving account. The link is available in "Settings" and select "ATM/Debit card service"

But the process of verification would need 5 working days... Then after linking, you will be able to transfer

the whole idea was to collect points. If that can't be done, paired with the lower interest rate, this is a dead-on-arrival account...

any suggestions for a good savings account today?

Yes. Ambank Truesavers. No minimum amount, no need to topup every month. No complicated T&c. Interest is 2.8% p.a.

Want to ask, anyone receives the RM5 incentive interest for December month? I didn't receive mine even though I pass RM5K average and no OTC transactions. The customer service also sucks and when I call, totally have no idea what is Airasia Saving account and ask me to call CIMB....=.=

You probably conducted OTC transactions without realising it (happened to me).

Is it possible to close this account but maintain the CIMB Click for the sake of credit card internet facility. I just opened it yesterday.
