Have you tried holding the power button for > 8 secs?

I'm not sure the phone is really off OFF. Usually, if it won't turn on, we remove the battery for a while, then put back the battery, but for N8, it'll be hard. Removing the battery and put it back on is different from removing it for a certain period. If you remove it and put it back straight, the phone still have some power to it.

N8 fail....delay so long but still fail...

Anyone has problem with the HDMI cover no closing properly along the top of the case?
I suspect its the zitron warranty "Do not remove sticker" that may be causing the problem...
Anyone has this problem or its like dat?

Any user here can recommend any casing be it from Nokia or capdase, etc, that you recommend (currently using) which is suitable for the N8?

Anyway do the Nokia Stores at KLCC/Pavillion/LowYat carry those cases i see on nokia website?

Yeah, feel its annoying.. but since its normal thing... have learn to accept it.

is it really mainboard / chip problem?
i thought last time someone said that it's due to amoled problem when view in night?
does that mean mine also have problem ??

u can use Digi for surf net etc...  forget about smooth Youtube, BT-ing..  video streaming etc....

there is a 2nd batch unit in our thread..  u can ask him and see have similar problem or not..  but I already can give you answer.. definitely no problem.. 

@SKLchan...  last night tethering speed .. but this not yet tutup MSN...

seeing all the comment yesterday... U say use HDMI out to TV no problem..  I think the LG Amoled are pretty bad..

i notice that too...but seems like it's some unknown bug or something present in his unit...

if u say internet speed hor, Digi better...colleageu of mine and me tested...His one got kicked back to Edge before the speed test started, while Digi no problem and get 0.97Mbps...can check my facebook on the speed test, in my wall photo i think

don think zoom in would help here...zoom in also quality drop...for me i wont be using the zoom..

Okay guys here's my screen problem that I was ranting over just now.

I noticed this whenever I receive a new text message (not sure about miss calls and other notifications), the problem goes away when I unlock and lock the phone again.



After pumping up the exposure to make it more visible to you guys in case you can't see it from the first photo. But in reality its already obvious enough.



Btw when you receive a new text message, does your display turn on or is there only your message tone?

Guh. So do I send it back to maxis since I got my phone from there?

Or go to NCC?

Yups.. n8 is not really stable yet.. it happen when i make a phone call and talk about 1hour.. and it dead..~ So sad... 
The solution already add at fp but it doesn't work on me.. i will try again & again until it revive.. but if cannot, i think tomorrow i will send to NCC..~ (that the last option that i have... and i hope i can avoid sending this n8 to NCC because it take time and many procedure (as i understand from andy) ... ~.~" )

i think ur N8 is not connected with Internet.. that error message will came out if there is no Internet connection..~

mine... the connect and disconnect sound can be notice.. but 8sec sound is not there.. ~ huhu

i'm not sure this will help or not... (if it's the display kong)

1. UNLOCK the phone by sliding the unlock button (treat the phone as it's still alive an ON only that no display)

2. Once unlock, direct long press the power button (same as force shutdown)

3. Repeat like the FP step for dead N8 (plug in charger for 15 mins, plug in USB for 15 mins, then try to power up again)

4. Repeat whatever you can think of...

All these are try and error method...

Hahah, thanks Captain Obvious. However someone mentioned that Low Yat would carry Black too. Well since I am not working tomorrow, I can go to KL and source for it. I think Black is more stylish.

Would places in Low Yat carry Easy Payment Plan?, Thats the thing, as I only know Nokia Stores would.

Anyways since I am also down town, side note: I want to be there for the Uniqlo grand opening too!! Wakakaka!!
