Aspire, since you are well versed on phones stuffs, do you have any idea if Nokia warranty goes by the receipt or that unreliable warranty void sticker?

Does the phone comes with the sirim tag at the back of the phone?
*
The warranty of nokia phone goes this way..

It is 14months once the phone arrive here... They key in the IMEI to the system n warranty from there start ticking...

If allow 2 month grey period to expect the phone to reach consumer hand... If ur phone warranty r still left 1 month but their system show ur warranty is over, they need you to bring ur warranty card wt chop to get permission to say ur phone still under warranty...

which still keep me wondering...why would nokia wanna announce N8 so early? They are experienced in software, and they should know that software products, especially OS, will never be able to be ready on initial planned date, unless they really have many teams of pro programmers working day and night...
IMO the phone is announced too early, and now early users would have to suffer from unstable firmware due to lack of time for software optimization

a freaking player with no custom equalizer, suddenly i miss my N82 already doh.gif

My N86 (not N8, but still Symbian) is always set to GSM only. Never restarted.
I've never tried setting it to 3G only. Next time I'll try.

what the different between digi RM58 unlimited and RM68 unlimited internet plan ah?? mind to explain a bit kah??
*
58 plan is not a standalone plan... It is purely a data add on plan to ur voice plan... If I m not mistaken, it do not allow tethering

68 is a standalone plan.. It do not require any call plan.... It do allow tethering...

ohhhh... thanks, no wonder the sales person never mention on the RM58 during my enquiry... but FYI the RM68 plan if u use CC to pay monthly it will have extra RM5 discount... so it's RM63 per month...  nod.gif
*
Ya..auto debit... But I can't do that.. I need the bill..

Beside, 68 plan.. U entitle 25% discount for the 68 if total bill >100.... N ur rm68 foc if total bill more than 200...

but hor but hor... i can't really appreciate the maxis 3g leh... seem the speed still not as i suspected...
and then 1 dumb question, do we need to set the phone to 3g/3.5g mode to get the max out of the broadband?? i always on power saver mode currently and it only connect through gsm, will this affect the internet speed?? as till now i'm still wondering why we need to connect using 3g/3.5g other then video call??  rclxub.gif
*
rely on GSM max out u get EDGE speed... .. UMTS(3G/3.5G) run on different frequency...

But I never on my 3G on my phone.. except tethering...

QUOTE(sklchan @ Nov 2 2010, 09:47 PM)
then hor... won't it be better we set the mode to dual mode in N8 so no need changing here and there?? (of coz not in power saver mode lah as it's predefine fixed setting)... not sure how smart N8 handling dual mode as my previous 5800xm quite dumb as it prefer more to connect through 3g network and when we travelling around the network mode keep switching and MOST of the time causing the phone "hang in term of connection" where can't receiving incoming call or msg... then sometime it hang with the network connection "zero signal strength" although we know the network signal is strong...  doh.gif
*
It will only make the power consumption worse.. once u are out of 3G coverage.. ur phone keep on searching for it all the time...

if u try to read ur user manual... u know the different of power require by UMTS network and GSM network.. a big different....

I said before.. like my phone.. wt 3G.. less than 1 day.. sao pei... without 3G.. about 2day+....

hi guys, got some questions, if i turn to GSM only, the N8 wont try connect maxis 3g rite. cuz sumtime it auto connect.. i dun want when the bill came to me, it will be so expensive~
*
not exactly sure about symbian^3 mean of GSM there... but gsm only do include EDGE.. which still cost u data.. gprs too still data.... still can give u bill shock....
