QUOTE(BBXiong @ Oct 30 2010, 11:21 PM) bass is there, but just not as good as what the 5800 offered. i seriously hoped they dumped in 5800's speakers to that phone actually... at least the one offered with N8 is already better compared to previous models....SE already started using in-ears long time ago with their W series and nokia's defauly earphone normally sucks...i never used them even last time, just use the remote control, and from remote control port i plug in my own earphone to use im gonna stick with the stock bcoz of the remote....unless i can find others with similar function and compatible with nokia, most is juz towards iphone btw u guys shld try uploading higher quality tunes (320kbps +, aac/wav) and dun use any eq at all....it ruins the music sometimes This post has been edited by ZeneticX: Oct 30 2010, 11:30 PM |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Oct 30 2010, 11:31 PM) not bad....but no budget, maybe later in a few months time QUOTE(BBXiong @ Oct 30 2010, 11:34 PM) lol, cos apparently our headset still got left and right and the surround works damn well there? just turn it on whenever you use earphone and turn it off after that lo, that's what I did for my n82 not ruin music with 320kbps.....actually my main point is thr is jz calling u all to try using higher bit rate audio and dun use eq.but in the end wheter like or not is up to user preference, sound mattersyou can always get remotes that allow you to connect to your own earphone at the garage sales threads... and what do you mean by ruin music wiu 320kbps? if you try to convert a lower bitrate audio to higher bitrate, it would be screwed up most the time... |

QUOTE(BuFung @ Oct 30 2010, 11:46 PM) u know a bit of audio staffs.. coz used to hang out at audiophile forum to listen to maximum detail.. EQ should be total flat... recording studio monitor speaker are produce as flat sound as possible... so u can hear all instrument sound.. but most consumer will not really like those truly flat sound.. coz consumer usually prefer a bit more bass only sound good.. but that actually make u lost of some detail.... and yeah to statement above.....the headphone does matter.if u have super duper 800kbps+++ file but ur headphone sux,in the end oso no diff |

QUOTE(andrekua @ Oct 31 2010, 01:44 AM) Bitrate does miracles yeah? no wonder i got a bit headache after around 30 mins listening to my N8 at 3 bars below max volume......tht doesn't happen or it takes longer to happen with my previous 3GSIm kinda free right now cos my wife and son slept liao so I got a little bored and went with HTC Legend vs N8 vs Sound Blaster Digital Music (it has 24bit DAC + LME49720 opamp mod). Im using a GoVibe6 and Crossroad Mylar1B (which is a heavier on bass, but not so compared to N8 stock headset). Let me just start first on the stock headphone. I think N8 has trouble driving them at the loudest. When I plug in my headamp, it was better, slightly. I almost get no sound at all when plugged into my HTC Legend which says it all about how hard it is to drive them. The stock headset also seem pretty lacking on the higher end frequency which makes it sound a bit dull. I think the main problem with N8 is soundstage. Definitely lacking or even not there. The sound just plays into your head. Fatigue and annoying over a longer period if you like them loud. The sound from my modded Digital Music and HTC Legend is definitely better in this aspect. If you can get a headamp with the right opamp to create the soundstage, it might just turn the table around. Govibe6 cant expand N8 soundstage by much and still feel slightly annoying. To make headphone enjoyable, soundstage is important. It can be fatigue to listen to for long period of time. If you had a Philips HP890/895, maybe you can give it a try. Should be quite enjoyable since it has this wide soundstage experience. However, the bass might be hard to tolerate since HP890 tend to have loosy bass and the N8 in its stock form also has loosy bass which is normal for handset headphone out. Ah... before I forgot, you might want to try KSC-75 (did i get the model correct?)... I think open air headphone should be slightly better for N8 than in-ear headphone. I have one but the stock padding is gone. |
