hi all,

I'm thinking of buying an antique ( > 100 years) online from a legal dealer located oversea. Will i face any problem at the custom when this antique import to malaysia ?

I read from some sources saying that i need the following clearance documents.

1) Permit from National Museum prior to importation. rclxub.gif
2) Certificate of antiquity from origin country (dealer can provide)
3) Origin invoice. (dealer can provide)
4) Malaysia custom form 1 (obtain from custom office ?)
5) Letter of Authorisation (from who ?)

Anyone can confirm whether i really need all this documents ? hmm.gif Also, will i get any tax on antique more than 100 yrs old ?
If the process of buying an antique from oversea is so hassle, i might as well ask someone hand carry it for me when they come to malaysia. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks

but hes currently overseas doing haji with my dad, so cant ask sweat.gif

maybe you ought to ask a lawyer or someone who studies the law, or you could go to the custom office or call them about it
