Very stressful! After bf him for more than 45 min with milk but he is still crying out loud. I am afraid that we used to top up FM and now he keeps wanting more. How do we really know of baby have enough with just bf? I dun wan him to get used to FM!

How how? What should I do? He seems doesnt want to suck from bf and wanting bottle with FM. Still didnt manage to pump out milk as there is only a few drop.

Btw, maybe is 5 days old

try to burp him after feeding. caress his back, under the knees and tapak kaki.
his stomach just as big as his fist, as long as he keeps pooping & peeing, fret not.

noted. no. ny wife are able to breasfeed the other side ady.

on another note, my girl had caused my wife's nipple (both side) to bleed. is it safe to breastfeed then? coz my friend said it is not good for the baby to eat the blood...
*
ask your wife to put a few drops of breastmilk onto that crack nipple & give enough air to that area

Hello All Breastfeeding Mums,

I'll be due in June - my first baby, and I'm hoping to be able to breastfeed for at least 6 months. Took me a week to read about all of your breastfeeding adventures starting from the 1st page. Now, I'm determine to breastfeed to!

I read that it is not gonna be easy, but I'm determine to feed my prince with the best food a mum is capable of offering. smile.gif

Hai everyone.

My son is now 3 months and God bless, still breastfeeding. he strongly refuse formula milk. Now i have started working and expressing milk everyday. I fully breastfeed during night and feed EBM during daytime Monday - Friday.

I am really2 confused about the duration and usability of the stored EBM. i have tried googling but it just makes me more confused since different web gives different answers. Because i cant fit the informations i get to my problem.

my office is one hour away from home. so, to be on the safe side, i just freeze EBM. then, on the way home, it melts. so, when i reach home, i just put it in the chiller , not freezer. now, how long can i keep it for my baby?

for now, i am just storing it 24hours, after that will discard. it is a real waste esp the ones i express on Fridays because once i am home, i breastfeed, wont feed him the EBM. i will continue till Monday morning. is there a way to keep the Friday's EBM longer?

** i read that dry ice can be used for travelling, want to try that as well so EBM wont melt on the way home. so, once reach home, can put in the freezer right?

hope i will get some guidance here. really want to give the best for my little baby. thank you notworthy.gif

hi lord anju,

you need ice packs to keep your EBM cool all the way. you may get them from various online stores. freeze it at night for tomorrow use. 5-6 ice packs may lasted all day in your pumping bag.

once you reached home, either refrigerate for tomorrow (fresh EBM is better than frozen EBM) or store in freezer for stocks.

refrigerate may lasted to 4-5 days (IIRC) if you put it at the back of the fridge. whilst frozen EBM may lasted up to 3 months in 2 door fridge.

take care and happy breastfeeding!

Hi all,

I delivered my baby girl on 6/3. It's my first kid and everything is so new to me.
My baby seems to drink a lot. This makes me so worry.
I tried to express my milk and measure how much she could drink.
When she's about 10 days old, she could finish 3 oz of breast milk, and she drink about every 2.5-3 hours. I believe if I give her more, she will also be able to finish.
She gain 0.6 kg in 2 weeks. Is it normal or she increased too fast?
*
hi speng smile.gif

congrats! breastmilk is easily digested & absorbed therefore breastfed baby always ask for more.
let her drinks as much as she wants. follow her demand.

my baby was 2.95kg at birth and weight at 4.5kg during her 1st month old.

take care!

17 months old baby should be able to sleep through the night at this age, but my 17 months baby still wake up 3-4 time, sometime every 2-3hours in night for milk nursing. I am wondering is my breastmilk too watery and she is not full enough? or she is looking for nen nen (.)(.) in order to fall asleep?

Trying to wean off breastfeeding but find no way...my baby reject milk bottle, i don't know how to feed her during night time? (she is spoon feed at day time)

I am really feel so tired and torturing over this 17 months, can't even get a good sleep at night and it has been affect my day time routine and my face getting pale and even my body is thinner before pregnant...

feel like crying...
*
i was in your shoes back then. up till 2 years until i finally wean off. during the process, she still woke up a few times at night and i had to be strict not to offer the B.

she sleeps thru the night after 2-3 weeks.

take care ya.

Hello,

I'm a bit confuse..they said first day in hospital, we dont have milk..
If want to fully breastfeed, then what should we do? I read somewhere it said bb can survive without milk for 2 days..
But my friends all ask me dun be so ambitious. Ask me to mix with formula milk.
So, i feel very confuse. What should I do? My EDD is end of this month.
*
yes, we dont. we only have colostrum.
the baby's stomach is just as big as her/his fist.
keep nursing the baby in order to stimulate the milk factory. follow his/her demand. for breastfeeding, no such thing as feeding as in every 3 hours or so because its easily digested. as long as baby pee & poo, it should be OK.

So, should i insist to bf only..no mix with formula?
even no milk, keep give bb latch on..
then should i bring the breast pump to hospital to massage/stimulate?

My friends all ask me dont be so serious..makes me a bit demotivated..
*
the best stimulate comes from the baby's suckling.

let the hospital know that you want to breastfeed your baby. they will respect that.
you may ask for nurse to teach you on how to latch etc. since this is your 1st baby,
i believe they will be very happy to assist.

in breastfeeding, strong determination is one of the key factor.

i wish you all the best smile.gif
