QUOTE(nmah @ May 23 2013, 12:15 PM) Hi, Hi there,My wife just deliver our first baby boy three weeks back. And on the second weeks, milk just stop suddenly and no matter hard she try to pump there's none a single drop at all. Any advice or suggestions on how to solve this? We really have no idea what have cause this. Not so sure about the problem. However, did your wife taking any meals or drinks everyday. Don't forget to drink plain water too. Basically, the body has to have some source from where it want to produce the breast milk. So the mother has to eat and drink too. Do you want to try Shaklee ESP soy milk? It can enhance the breast milk production. |

QUOTE(Kasumie @ Jun 25 2013, 10:31 PM) My friend's daugther coming to one month. and she have alot of red spots like rashes on her face. i see her picture, quite severe to me. The mother told that one of her friend as a doctor said it is normal for baby who breastfed to have rashes like that and it will somehow go off by time. the mother in law said is milk rashes but mommy itself thinks is like eczema. Hi,The mother breastfeed the girl. she also mixed with formula because baby just cant get enough from mother. keep demanding. she also wondered if she did breastfeed the baby right way. Questions here are: 1. Is it normal that baby to have rashes like that over her face? What actually causes the rashes? 2. How to relieve the rashes if so? 3. My friend would like to look for a breastfeeding consultation, where she should look for one? Thank you. 1. My daughter also has few rashes on her face and also on her neck. We suspect its because of the milk and also sometimes she vomits the milk spill over her face. Maybe 10pc caused by sweat. 2. What we did was we apply very small amount of Pureen Nappy Rash Cream on the affected area. We also wipe her cheek often with wet napkin of luke warm water. Also apply baby oil or baby lotion after each bathing session before wear her clothes. 3. I dont have information on these. But me n my wife were given little information about BF by nurses and also from our colleagues. May I know what is her concern of? :-) |

QUOTE(Kasumie @ Jun 26 2013, 09:19 AM) She did apply some cream on it. It do relieve then it will come back I think this rashes has been around for two weeks d. Same with my daughter. She always fall asleep when latching. Did the BF mother knows how much she can produce in a day? For my wife, she is able to feed the baby when she in need and also able to store around 10 - 15oz a day. Thankfully, maybe because she took some protein milk and supplement to maintain her breastmilk. She doubt that whether thr baby did latch properly when feeding. Thats the reason she would like to seek for a consultation. And she said her baby will never get enough and mummy supply is low. Sometimes I heard that her nipples craxk quite bad too when the baby suck too much. Her baby feel cranky and wanted to latch. Then let her to latch on she will drink for few minutes and fall asleepp. She feels so comfortable when latching then asleep. As if like she needs a pacifier. Or at least, the mother should drink and eat too because the milk has to be produced by some source of diet. Did she apply nipple cream on her cracked nipple? My wife also had these problem in her first 2 weeks. Now, everything is fine and smooth. And also she can try to learn the language of the baby's cry. She can search on Youtube "Dunstan Baby Language". Hope this helps. :-) |

QUOTE(frostfrench @ Jul 2 2013, 01:34 PM) I have been breastfeeding since the birth of my baby and my baby is 6 months now. What you have done are among the popular and best ways to increase your breastmilk. My baby will want more milk soon, am afraid I will not have enough for the baby. Are there ways that increase my milk supply? What I have done and doing: -take fenugreek supplements -drink red date water -latch breastfeed my baby everyday morning and night -eat fatty fish like salmon -drinking enough water daily I read that i can see my doctor and ask for medication to increase breastmilk, is it good? Thanks But, if you are willing to give a try on other products that can enhance your breastfeeding experience, I could share it with you. :-) |

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Sep 25 2013, 05:25 PM) My wife has been breastfeeding for about a few days on our week old baby. ( she missed the first day due to effects of GA as emergency csec has to be performed, in which during that time the nurses has fed our baby with formula milk). She wanted to pump out some milk so that our parents can still continue to feed her when she's not around (like she go for a routine obgyn checkup). Hi SnoWFisH,She tried pumping for about 5 minutes but no milk is being expressed. Hand express yielded some milk, but the process is too slow, (30 mins for less than 10ml of milk). Is it too early to pump? She's using Phillips Avent Comfort eletric pump, the purple one. you might want to refer to this page. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2895934&hl= :-) |

QUOTE(SnoWFisH @ Sep 27 2013, 11:32 AM) Yeap..if she allergic to soy it is not advisable..However she can take other supplement such as alfalfa to boost her BM. And also B-Complex to release her stress. Stress sometimes has effects on the BM production. Other would be multivitamin Vita-Lea to give essential vitamin and minerals for her and for her baby. Consuming vitamin C is also advisable to maintain and enhance her immune system as well for the baby. You know that, whatever she consume will also contribute to your daughter. :-) |

Hi all,
I just want to share our currently 8 weeks experience of being a parent especially my wife who chose to be a Fully Breast Feeding Mom. I am very happy with her decision and believe she is too because we know that we provide the best nutrition diet to our baby. Now, after 8 weeks, we have kept a total number of 45 Expressed Breast Milk (EBM) in storage bottle and 20 in storage bags which total up the EBM volume of roughly 250 oz just in space of 7 weeks. She starts expressing her breast in the 2nd week. And that does not count the amount of BM that she manage to feed the my daughter directly and also several other EBM that we have used on several occasions. What is surprising, even during this fasting month, she still manages to maintain her production and she has not left her fasting day for once since day one. And she looks just as fit as other normal fasting person. The, reason behind this is because, she have been consistently taking supplements and energy drink to keep her body fit and fresh throughout the day and also boosting her breastmilk production. I am currently act as her PA to make sure she take the supplements besides supporting her in many ways because this is part of a husband's/father's role in a way to make sure the Fully Breastfeed of the baby will be successful in the next 2 years period. I think that is all I could share at current time and I will update more if there are any informative thing we can share. You guys are welcome to comment if you guys have similar experience to share with. |

Yeap she did deliver normal and was encourage to feed our baby during the first hours of delivery although there were no milk at that time. It takes up to one day when the milk starts to flow.
No worries. But if you change your mind I can help you with the suggestions. Basically those supplements did help to produce more concentrated milk. :-) |
