Added on June 7, 2011, 10:59 amMy mom said that she can't jaga another grandchild as children nowadays aren't like us (very good and quiet)..and also coz my mom's age is catching up.

So...even if i have a maid..it's not cheap (especially the initial fees..which is close to 10K). Then..we have no privacy as we are living in an apartment. so decided better not have maid.

3rdly...cost of everything is going up..especially education. If i get 2 kids..i'll have to work till i die..just to make sure they get into uni/college...that is..if they don't take up medicine..if they take up medicine..jia latt..work till die also cannot!!

phythia79, which area u staying there? issit nanny there expensive? how much for daycare and overnight?

i think it's normal for people who say no milk. coz at first the milk or colostrum is really really little. and the pain.. if cannot endure the pain and determination, then very easy to give up.

I nearly gave up as I was so stress up every time i get a few drips for the first week. plus I knocked down twice of my milk after all the hard work.. i was so depressed. now think back also feel happy for myself for the determination that I have.

So I believe is all that is up to the mothers to do what's best for your baby. if you really really really cant endure the pain and no determination, we cannot blame and say no milk.. if you have enough rest + eat well, the milk will start flowing in no time.

I'm staying in KL. Nanny can be expensive...plus..with nowadays scary stories..i'm very reluctant to send my send to a nanny.

At this moment..my mom takes care of my son in the mornings till i get home from work. I take care of him at nights..he doesn't spend overnights at my mom's.

anyways..i'm thinking of sending my son to a playschool next year...to let him mingle with kids his own age..

my 1st baby time, i had trouble latching, only 3rd day baby can latch and drink.. before that he couldnt latch and so he cried and cried, had to give FM... after that even if i BF, he seems to cry at my boobs after 10-15mins.. give FM only will quiet down... i did this for 2 months and at one point i had bad cough.. avoided medicine but cough got worse... had to take meds and that time my supply dropped to even worse

qarezma, well this time u're well equip wif knowledge n u have n found support that u needed... this time around u should feel the determination like someone's giving u a push from behind just like when i was down in the beginning of the thread

siawyee...my milk also stopped at exactly 1 month...i worked very hard after that to make sure it doesnt happen again.

A friend told me to boil fennel seeds and drink twice a day..and that's how my milk flowed again.

siawyee, u should try phythia's method if u wanna continue bf... it's hard work but it's worth it coz we're all giving our babies the best milk

Hi All,

I've been BF my baby for almost 5 months, but now I feel my BM amount getting lesser when I pump at work. I can only pump about 8 ounces during office hrs (9am - 6pm). Is that too little?

If so, I want to do whatever I can, to increase my supply cos my boy wants a lot of my milk (He doesn't drink EBM but during weekends atleast I want to have good supply to feed him all day).

Hoping to try having fenugreek seeds as Phythia adviced. But how to drink it? Mix 1 tsp with 1 cup of warm water and immediately drink? Or I need to keep for few hrs and drink? And how many times a day?

fill the saucepan with water (enough for 1 cup/mug), put 1 tsp of the seeds into the water. wait for it to boil. once the water is boiling, you can just keep it boiling for about 1 or 2 minutes more. Water colour will change to tinge of yellow. Switch off the gas and strain the seeds. Drink the water. Just do this 2 times a day..should be good.

You can also try with fennel seeds.

another one..is you boil barley..and drink it throughout the day..and eat the seeds too.

Mommy_2011, dun worry... watever oz u get from pumping is good... dun give urself pressure else ur supply will drop too n watever oz u pump out doesn't mean ur boy oso drinks the same amount... babies suck n empty bm better than breast pump i remember i used to get abt 4oz per pumping session when i was FTWM... then at the end of 1 mth of working i gradually got abt 8-9oz i was so surprised n proud... mayb it'll happen to u too... that time i bf before work, during lunchtime (coz work n home very near), after work n nite feeds... i pump 2 times at work...

now ladies, i think we could make a list of lyn bf mummies so we can encourage other mummies-to-b that we all can bf who's wif me? just lemme know u wanna b in the list... i'll post it up on post #1

I didn't know about her till 4 or 5 months into bf...if i knew earlier..would have gone.
