phythia, i dun think i have such problem. but in the initial days i mix feed wif fm, water n glucose. so i can't say much. if i can turn back time i would have just ignore them n just bf. how abt getting someone to visit her like the peer-to-peer support if gina's bz? they're oso trained in bf. yry give them a call. i've put up the list in post #1.

nugget, shouldn't give water coz 1) makes a false signal to baby that he's full but actually he's not... 2) like phythia said, bm got 70% water... y givemore water? 3) read some where too much water can cause drowning ya... yes lemas dalam air... too much water in the brain... if he ik ik ak ak then pop in the boobs la...

Gary, y in the world would u think it's better for ur baby to sleep longer? hmmm how abt i overfeed ur stomach wif lots of food how would u feel? u'll get a very big stomach then u'll need eno rite? would u like that? so y would u do that to a poor baby? before u think it's good to mix fm just to make baby sleep longer, u might wanna zoom out n think wat would happen if ur baby WAS you... bm has all the nutrients that a HUMAN BABY needs... fm is made from COW n unless u think a COW's milk is more better than a HUMAN milk then i have nothing to say... i think we, bf mummies, dun mind being a human "cow" for our babies

oh ya there's oso cases of stepmum who successfully bf her adoptive baby... lots of hard work i must say compare to us who went thru pregnancy... plus it's still possible to relactate if the mummy decides to give bf another shot... the amazing world of human body

billie bonka, congrats! by no milk, u mean u dun c the milk or like sbux said? colostrum is not like matured milk. they dun have the distinctive milky color but they r the most previous milk u can give to ur baby. that's y they called it precious / gold milk. it'll b easier for u to get someone to support u or else battling it alone, u'll give up easily. u can get gina to pay u a visit or go to post#1 n find the nearest bf peer consellor. they can give u advice, pay home visits n check up on ur progress. dun b shy ya coz we all r passionate abt bf do come back n update us. ur bf journey is just began n we do hope that u would continue bf. do remember this, bf is simple but bo one said it's ez

oh ya if possible do let ur baby latch on as many times as possible coz there's no better breastpump than ur baby. remember got demand got supply. less demand less supply. no demand no supply. if the advice u're getting is get more rest, u can always co sleep wif baby. baby sleep u sleep. n no water ya. breastmilk is enuf for babies.
