No idea how to persuade my friends to join Folding. It is like playing piano to cow ~.~
Friends claim they buy 2600k is because they multitasking alot, as I see lots are just idling + 40~50% during gaming. They even buy cooler for the cpu cooling and overclock 9 9.
As they see my CPU usage with 100% all the time, they complain that will only make their computer hot, reduce multitasking(even I explain the idle process for Folding). Wonder how you persuade friends with the regards of heat, usage. Not sure their cooler is for wat too

Many people tend to think that having their web browser(s) open with multiple tabs and with Windows Live Messenger and et cetera running while playing their games requires a processor like an Intel i7 to handle. . They're unfortunately ill-informed and in most situations you cannot do anything to correct them on their thought as they're dead set on it. The salesmen at PC shops also often mislead people into believing such silly things like the situation that your friends are in.

Well, if they're not keen on helping out, then there's no point in trying to convince them anymore. You might even get them to label you as an annoyance if you keep trying to get them to do something they're not interested in and something that they have no idea of what's it about.

Look for some other friends, preferably those who are interested in computers to try persuading them. The friends you talked about above are unfortunately computer illiterate based on what you said.

Hey guys, see my siggy. I have an Intel core 2 duo e4500. I just installed folding at home console client. How to fold on dual core cpu? I set 2 clients and each client with different machine ID. For example, 2 different folders with the folding console and different machine id. will this fully utilize my dual core cpu? And can I run SMP high performance client?

But will SMP client slow my system down? I'm using normal client and it stated that it will only use my spare CPU power but for SMP client, it will use up all the CPU and need to run at 24/7?

Folding@Home's website seems to be inaccessible. Anyway, completed one work unit this morning and another is at 56% already.
