actually is cpu+gpu for 1 protein.
if using 2 program, wouldnt it become folding 2 protein?
*
i think not like this.
1 cpu client for 1 protein.
1 gpu cleint for another protein.
cpu and gpu didn't work together to fold 1 protein. unsure.gif

arh... too bad. if both work together sure fold faster
*
haha, i can say gpu fold much more faster than cpu. brows.gif
i think the protein that use to fold on cpu and gpu are different. unsure.gif

nooo... brows.gif  imma using gtx460 bro..

so if u fold using gpu client ( ver. systray) open the viewer → press F5 → ????? → PROFIT!! (the nvidia logo turns to ati)

try to spam the f-keys, see what u got.. rclxms.gif

EDIT: F3 to F6 changes the viewer screen from nvidia to ati, the difference being the way the protein molecules are displayed. try it out.. laugh.gif

you are using nvidia gpu or ati gpu. brows.gif
you can download the gpu client here:
http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther
and installation guide here:

Did not notice the icon. Anyway, I have shared with my friends. I think every now and then I'll put a reminder up and hopefully everyone would participate. Equally, I hope TS would also update everyone from time to time, otherwise I think we would forget or loose interest.

haha, nice.

Just installed folding@home basic CPU Uniprocessor client for my pc.

Tried gpu client on my 8500gt but it crashed.  sad.gif

Hopefully my Pentium D 4ghz still can make up to it.

Usually my pc is switched on 24/7 so hopefully something good would come out of this.  nod.gif
*
haha, welcome. biggrin.gif
wow, a 4GHz pentium D, monitor the temperature as well when folding.
as i know pentium D quite hot. nod.gif

and maybe you can try high performance client like smp client on the pentium D,
see whether it can finish the work unit before deadline or not, since you switch on 24/7. brows.gif

about the gpu client crash on 8500GT,
did the crash happen when you open the viewer? unsure.gif

*
the viewer is unstable.
i have same thing happpened on my 8400GS,
bsod when open the viewer. sweat.gif

actually 8500GT consider weak in folding.
but as long as it meet the deadline, it is still ok. biggrin.gif

Do i need a seperate client for GPU folding and CPU folding?
*
yes, you need separate client for them. brows.gif
CPU - uniprocessor client, smp client.
GPU - gpu client.

the uniprocessor client is their classic client with lower credit.
smp client and gpu client are high performance client with higher credit. brows.gif

you can found high performance client here: biggrin.gif
