if u emphasize on camera, wildfire is better. but if u just want to experience android phone with sharp icons (due to lower screen size), then go for galaxy 5 for its cheaper price.

my wife have a galaxy 5, i am using a wildfire, bought at around the same time (2 or 3 months difference). all else being equal(taking into account price difference) i would say they are about the same....
galaxy 5 's advantage is its smaller size (good for small fingers... like my wife's) and lower price. however its pc application (samsung kies) is a piece of crap. .worse than htc sync. camera resolution is smaller but.. to most people this is not an issue they already have a digital camera (including me and my wife). its audio is very good. better than wildfire my wife uses her phone more than i use mine wildfire 's advantage is its faster. .more apps are available due to its higher resolution of course the price is higher. the camera is also quite good despite what people here say.. its pc application is also a piece of crap but better than kies and useful enough for basic usage. HTC sense is also very user friendly . friendlier than galaxy 5 but both are very good phones and both of us loved ours |

Galaxy 5 is a way faster than Wildfire 2. Both screen's resolution are same 3. Galaxy 5 does support more apps than Wildfire Wildfire's camera easily kill Galaxy 5's crappy camera for the autofocus function I do agree that Samsung Kies is rubbish............ why not you just add some $$ to get HTC Aria.... the Screen Resolution is higher...
For X8, it is very cheap consider the spec of the phone, the only down side is no multi-touch support. regarding the OS version, SE have confirm that they will upgrade the OS.... but don't know when... |

the only problem i see for galaxy 5 is the internal storage space, which in eclair do sucks because all apps are installed into it. if u reflash your rom to install apps in sd card it's not a problem, but if u don't the memory will be used up in an instant, even with the wildfire's 512mb it's still not enough. that's why i'm still waiting until something that has froyo (i.e the desire hd or desire z)
