At the side of the drum, you will find 5 nuts. Use the nut-tuner to tune it. Tune all 5 together. Not so losse not so tight.

don't you mean tuning key? laugh.gif each brand's tuning key is unique right?

Then I wonder why Tama bothers to trademark or call their tuning key "unique", looks like a standard allen key to me sweat.gif

edit: nevermind, just found out why from Tama's site tongue.gif

Bentley's selling a full range of Pearl drums, except for Master that is, but I wanna ask, whats the difference between Export EX, EXR and Select? Shells the same, package also the same, but the difference is RM300 per line, is it just the design?

pizzaboy, I tell you do NOT! I say again do NOT get the DD-55 for a main drumset, it sounds alright but the pressure isn't variable, like a PS1 controller, the connection is either live or cut, no variables and I cant even roll a flam straight on it without having the cymbal pad being triggered

Too sensitive, too cranky and too stiff.

Get an SX, freaking budget set but surprisingly still churns out some good sounds, coming in at around RM1100 for 5 piece set with a hihat and one cymbal, but if it's a ride or crash I'm not sure. Could be one of those Made In China "Crashides" tongue.gif

brand, model you will have to look lah, but I remember their models are addressed as numbers like ABC-001 like that so it's no use, I can never differenciate between their top of the range and beginner models unless I see the price sweat.gif

Yup, China brand like Lazer and Maxtone, when you go searching for the drum don't go banging on them and if it sounds wrong then immediately giving up on it, try to get a tuning key then play around with it and take it easy. Most of the drums (whatever brand for that matter) that are new and on display are almost always out of tune so we can never make the right judgement by just tapping on them for the first time.

I saw one Starclassic maple by their window, just next to the Pearl Sessions and the price tag spells a 5 digit figure.. didn't bother to find out after that tongue.gif Bubinga still new so I'm very confident that they don't have it yet (new Export also still waiting for stock..)

The Pearl Export (EX) comes in this one brass white color variation, I think if your brother's cool with that better go with that one and use the extra money for some kickass cymbals or something as the EX is cheap, but got some real good value
