Hi, i want to ask, i'm using Athlon II x2 245 (stock speed) with Hyper TX3 cooler, my proc. temp when full load is around 48-50 degree celcius. My room temp. is around 26-30 degree celcius. I plan to switch to TR Ultra 120 eX., what temp. should i expect if i use this cooler? icon_question.gif

when i setup my rig last time, i used hyper tx3(3000RPM) on i7-860. the temp is around 38-52C with fan room. i overlocked it from 2.8Ghz to 3.5Ghz only. the temp reaching 65C. then i unsatisfied changed to thermalright venomous-x. this hsf really syok, the construction i can feel the power. then i managed to overclock till 4.2Ghz. can tahan one. syok!

but i found on idle temp/low process/load. the temp almost the same using hyper tx3 and venomous-x. but money running low, last week i sold my venomous-x and turned back to hyper tx3 with normal clock. haha.

the lesson, no overclock - no need to change cooler.

oh forgot to mention, at early morning. venomous X can reach 27C 26C 27C 26C.

Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme is better than CoolerMaster Hyper TX3 in perfomance, but do take note that Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme is much more expensive compared to CoolerMaster Hyper TX3.

well.. regor core is very2 cool..
i oc to 3.3ghz with stock cooler..

well.. it safe and been running few months without prob..

my suggestion will be, dont change cooler..what is the point ur cooler more expensive than ur proc..

with cooler master hyper 212+ u can get 40c on load @ 1.4v and <45c @1.5v

well.. depends on ur temp probe also..

I think u had wrongly set your CPU Voltage. I have same CPU and cooler as yours (Hyper TX3). Has tested with OCCT for 3hours, my max temp is 43C (No air-cond in my bedroom, only ceiling fan). Fan set to 75% speed. CnQ disabled. Fully stable with OC to 3.625ghz@1.425Vcore (250x14.5, HT link x8, NB link x8, DRAM 1333). Please dont set "Auto Voltage" thru bios setting. Athlon ii x2 245 default voltage setting start from 0.85V. This CPU very easy to overclock and reach stable voltage. Tested with 8hours fully stress. Never reach more than 45C. Using MSI 770-G45 mobo.

I think Hyper 212+ would be more than sufficient for a Athlon proc..

LOL Yes. Hyper 212+ more than enough for dual Core + Overclock and Just Nice for 4cores.
