I'm prety new to the media box device which recently tonnes of brand n spec i could find over the low yat plaza.
Could sum1 kindly help me on this.
Budget around 400~500, able to play almostly any kind of format, hdmi output.

Try the following according to your budget:-
- TViX HD N1
- Xtreamer Sidewinder
- Mede8er
- AC Ryan POHD

I believe, all these comes with good firmware(software upgrade) support and they are well known players around your budget region.

Also, please ask the seller to show you the media player interface and ensure that the chipset(like processor) are with "DD+" version by now.

HDpro only RM3++ . "realtek 1073C+ chipset" and others save it buy hdd.

TVix HD N1, Mederer and AC Ryan is 1073 chipset, only Xtreamer is 1283 chipset which is a higher end chipset.

1283 not high end now days. "brand" name expensive only.
1073C+ can do truehd,dtsma passtru.

1283 = 1073 + record .
xtreamer can record??

you can look at seagate freeagent theater plus+, all round quite capable player at rm229, you can keep the additional budget for saving or other stuff.....

Nvr know there's so many brand n player in market now
So there's a few question in my mind now.
1) 1073C+ or 1283, izzit mean either 1 of them will do? or ned go to the latest 1?
2) My fren ask me go for AC Ryan or Xtreamer, which 1 is better?
3) Which brand interface is ez to use? My old folks able to use without problem.

That's why I mention TViX HD N1 Cafe... due to simplycity of the interface. Xtreamer is not bad as my dad using it everyday! Even at his old age, he can search youtube with Xtreamer... LOL

Yes,... older SideWinder is without heatsink and you need to purchase separately. New sidewinder comes with heatsink installed.

acryan good player but bugged down by crappy firmware. really annoying especially with mkv using new header compression.

xtreamer also using realtek but at least they are fast with the fix.

what's good player using sigma now? need to jump ship.
