Hi, I am new to TV games, so hope to get some suggestions. I have two kids, 3 and 4 yrs old. My Nitendo 64 is too difficult for them to play. So I was thinking of getting a Nitendo WII. Is it a good idea?

I just surfed the internet and found out that X-Box will launch x-Box Kinect. Which will sence your body movements and let you be the controller. I think it is veryyyyy cooooool. What do you guys think?

How about Sony Playstation? Any good??

I don't think motion gaming is suitable for such young age

not interested with ps2 games? I think there are more suitable games for kid

i had kids that age, and really, it doesn't matter at that age what console u get. but when they reach 6 or 7, then maybe a wii, coz it is PROVEN to be preferred console for kids. PS MOVE is a technologically superior console, but it don't impress kids. they just get impressed with the games (wii has more kiddie games too). the kinect looks cool, but once the dust settle, it is only cool for a few selected games in the likes of dancing. trust me on this.

u see, the more u ask, the more confuse u will get coz everybody has an opinion (even me). so don't ask and just decide yourself. but note that statistically, the proven console for kids is still the wii.

The status has changed: Wii doesn't have kiddie games, the have trash games only. For kiddie games look for PS3, they have an extensive library like Little Big Planet etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc. So many etc of them.

i have both ps3 and wii. and my kids NEVER play the PS3. ok, i know my ps3 games are all Mature in nature. but when we visit the video game stores, my kids will ONLY browse the wii games, and ignore the PS3 games. btw, in case u wonder where got such game shop with wii games on display as many as the ps3 games - my kids are not malaysian and we not in malaysia.

I would buy Wii for my kids.
Not only becoz of the many kids games, but also the console is cheapest and tahan lasak.. no ring of death or yellow light or anything like that.

I'm gonna go with the Wii too. Not that the PS3 doesn't work, but atleast you have plenty of choice for plenty of games.

Ratings and reviews don't matter for the kids. Its how you teach them to play and the values of playing it. No reviewer can score that.

ps3 has all the high rated games. wii all low rated. u know y? coz all the high rated plays the same! so how the hell u going to give them a low rate. its quite true ps3 is for kids. just go to the cyber cafe and u see kids playing games like RE5 etc. beside that, like gunda says, there is LBP - the highest rated kid game ever, but from what i see, they still prefer RE5

just get a wii...and if u're in Msia n dun have so much of a knowledge about modding..GET AN UMODDED one.

me too got both wii and ps3, and was own a ps1 and ps2.
i think wii is a good choice for kids..
i do not have kids yet and almost of the time im playing ps3, my wii just collecting dust, but my wii will just turn on when my nephew comes to my house. they dont really love ps3 even i have ps move, and few kid title game such a sonic, joe danger, LBP too..
but the kids still love the cooking mama. hahaha

he may want to choose Steam also. There's a number of great arcade games to play with. I love Mystery games and Pop Cap games. haha.

Since you mentioned Kinect I figure it would be a good choice, Xbox 360 got enough hardcore games in case you want to play while Kinect will have kid friendly game. It's a win-win situation.

i will suggest for Wii,
Wii got many fun game to play,

myself own a Xbox n Wii,
normally my Xbox just keep for dust == never touch it....
xbox too hardcore, not suitable for me, i just want some relaxing game. (except use xbox to play WWE n other FTG)
but i keep on playing my wii, since all the game was so fun to play.
now Wii also got Kirby, n the coming soon for Epic Mickey n Donkey Kong. not to mention all those Mario games.
