i have the paypal receipt in my inbox(which is deimos's paypal acc), so any solution>

It's easy. Steam usually doesn't care how you get the game as long as you can prove that you're the legit owner of the account. The easiest way would be that your friend / relative bought it for you as a gift. smile.gif

A snapshot of receipt is much better than retail box.
Anybody can just give a screenshot of retail box, but not receipt.

Yup, anyone can get a random retail box. A photo of a handwritten note with CD-key, along with the said receipt would be the best. smile.gif

Then GG lor. I don't know then.
Without Receipt, hardly you can proof that games belong to you.

The CDKey thing, I don't know. I could probably just find the reference card image in internet and photochop it.

Hijacker can easily photochop something with it, since you can see the CDkey in Steam itself, no?

I mean, before block.
They are able to view your CDKey inside the Steam after they hijack your account.

And somemore, CDkey is not Proof of Purchase.

Btw, when you activate a retail games/Gift in Steam, you can print a receipt after succesful la.
You didn't know that?

Err... but I do have friends who got their accounts hijacked. What they did was to write the CD-key on a piece of paper, place it on the Orange Box & took a photo. Upload the said photos to their Steam Support ticket & their accounts are reactivated.

For those who purchased via others (like me), you can request for the gifter to provide you the credit card details (name on card, card number & expiry date (the secret 3 numbers are not requried)). I have 1 guy who got hijacked & this is what Steam Support requested & the account was subsequently reactivated.

I don't know, but from business POV, CD Key are never treated as Proof of Purchase. If it is, then I'm sure they are very poor in terms of business knowledge.
Cases like account being hijacked are easy to track. Just make sure you send the e-mail support from the PC that you used to login your Steam. Steam can do an investigation and trace your IP and identifiy hijacker's IP. We are lucky in Malaysia because mostly the hijacker are from overseas, so with the obvious different IP being logged on, Steam should be able to release your account.

donchaka, would you mind posting a copy of your Steam support ticket (With vital details left out of course)? Since you got unblocked, I'd like to add whatever information you had in it that I didn't. Thanks in advance!
