how can i increase my steam download speed ? TT

but how come only 24kbps until 50kbps ?!

Dont feel bad guys, i think Steam servers have problem.

Im downloading Metro 2033 at 25 to 100kbps. Most of the time is only about 30kbps.

When the download is slow we assume several possibilities

- Offer time, alot ppl buy, alot ppl download = slow
- Streamyx cap the line = slow
- Your family member who shared the line download other stuff = slow
- Didnt realiase your steam download server set out of SEA region (eg:US)
- Your neighbour steal your WiFi line

I dont think its steam problem, last time when steam making a major maintaince server they give away annoucement b4 doing so. So we can assume the possibility above~

Regarding the TF2 beta, do we have to dl it again ? TF2 thread said it's a diff game

try downloading from vietnam, not sure whether it will work but it worked for me sometimes

Okay, im using 2 different internet line that is connected to 2 different exchange. Im still getting less than 1/4 of my normal speed.

The other people who are using the internet are not using it when im downloading.

I have put the closest server to my current location.

The Wifi line is well protected. Dont see any reason why neighbour can steal both of my lines.

Steam is definitely having problems. Or the content servers are congested.

With all the streamyx capping international bandwidth fiasco going on atm, I think it's safe to assume that it's streamyx playing the fool.

I also got 1/6 (30KB/s) of my usual download speed (~180KB/s) while updating TF2.

wow, suprising early get back full speed. Now downloading at my normal 60kbps

Downloading ARMA2 Operation Arrowhead at 50kbps.

More or less 1/3 of the speed I am used to.

steam letting our wallet rest ic. no midweek or weekend deal. well there are many games still keep in touch now
