I doubt that they'll do so unless Steam is ready to lose thousands of gamers with Christmas looming near.

Once they fixed their server I don't think you will be able to continue playing it though, not sure.

Otherwise people would just copy over the files of games from someone else and it would work.

Personally I own it already anyway ^^

Hmm... too bad I'm in office at the moment. sad.gif

But seriously, Steam has been known to be a lil' slow in getting their announcements out. Last Summer Sale, all the games discount for the last day has been shown on their individual game pages even before Steam announced them out. This got me thinking if this free copy of King's Bounty is meant to be some kind of free play until Sunday or free-for-life (like Portal), & it's just that Steam is slowpoke in getting the announcement out again. hmm.gif

I think I figured it out. Actually there is an offer for those that pre order the new Kings Bounty stand alone expansion. They get a free copy as a gift of KB The Legend. I think this bit is screwed up and Steam opened the game up to everyone.

Guys, if I backup my TF2 and unpack it into my brother's computer, will it run? He has TF2 but not downloaded yet. I've tried to search steam forums but I'm wading through a mountain of non related posts.

To those who can access the Steam client now, can you check if you can play King's Bounty: The Legend for free? Those guys in Steam forum said that they can just download it for free & it's a few pages long so I don't think it's trolling.

It might work, but what I am not sure is would the backup be locked to your account?...Simply copying everything from your tf2 folder to your bro's PC is better, I think.
