I've been informed by some book author that his Gingerbread book will be out in 3-4 weeks time, implying that the SDK will be released shortly before that. Google should put up the SDK after the initial update release (like it was with FroYo), so we might see Gingerbread in a week or so. Some N1 users are already re-flashing their sets to stock FroYo in anticipation of the Gingerbread OTA (I'm sticking with MIUI however ).

So which part of compiling android program confuses you? You cannot setup different AVDs for different platforms? you didnt download the correct target revision?
