QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Oct 23 2010, 03:12 PM) Wow are you serious ??? I didn't realize a Malaysian already had one, congratz man hmmm...I must ask you, how does the red cherrys feel like ? Is it too light for you or just nice ??? Especially for gaming. The Ducky i am getting uses browns which is tactile non clicky. It's slightly harder than red, also has tactile bump. The red cherry is totaly linear non clicky, with very little resistance. Some interesting facts you might want to know about your Cherry G80-3494 Lycus-2 black keyboard 1. has POM key caps. POM is expensive and high quality plastic. No shiny effect 2. laser etched. Imho i like the Cherry key cap fonts. Of course the older Cherry keyboards with double shots are better, but laser etch should suffice, 3. Cherry uses it's own stabilizers with rubber. So it's much easier to remove shift, caps, enter and spacebar keys, compared to Costar keyboards that have a metal bar gripping the keys underneath which make it tricky to remove/install keycaps. 4. The Cherry switches on the Cherry keyboard are pcb mounted. Although it is less sturdy (heavy/durable) you can easily remove the switches without having to desolder. Particularly useful if you feel the need to replace the switches in the future. And although it's pcb mounted, some users say it's sturdy enough, so it's not as if it will break easily on accidental drops. for the 1st time I type in this red switch, it's really very light. Maybe because i've being using scissor switch keyboard for a very long time. It's still very hard to catch the actuation point and i find myself bottoming up most of the time. For gaming, double tapping is superb, i can tap faster than before for the keycaps.... i don't know what material it's using, and no, it doesn't shine. The letters, i think it's laser etched. I can feel the engraving on Overall, i found this keyboard to be awesome. I juz love the sound of every key pressed. Feels so solid |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Dec 29 2010, 03:54 PM) I just received my orange "X%&#!" double shot key from pimpkeyboard.com pictar pictar MY first impression was.... oh shit; thats a huge mofo. Makes me wonder whether my other SP key set are smaller than usual lulz. Quite thick too. The underneath mold is much thicker and nicely done as well. The texture as well is very different. It's sort of slippery without any texture. Whereas my Geekhack doubleshots have a grainy texture and is not slippery. Anyway since this key will be replacing the ESC key, i don't think it will matter that it is much elevated than the rest of my set since it's at the far top left out of the way of other keys. In fact it may be better that it is elevated; so it's easier to touch type and know that is the escape key. |

when using the red switch, it's very hard for me to catch the actuation point of the keys, and it causes me to bottom up quite often, even though I've tried to not bottom up all the time lol
maybe because i'm into martial arts lol I'm starting to think that cherry black switch will be better for me This post has been edited by THEswordmaster: Dec 30 2010, 04:39 PM |

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Jan 24 2011, 02:32 PM) Actually razer shouldn't have problem with the switch I thought? Since they outsource from the same place as other keyboards. Unless they have a very bad mounting mechanism. normal human cannot understand the darkside LOL I blacklisted razer for their dying Krait on me, worse is when they think it's perfectly normal for a mouse to stop working after 13 months (12 months warranty period past). And I am not being the isolated case here. Other than marketing I dont see their strength in other area, being bling (which I hate), gaming peripheral (I use office production hardware due to their comfort nature), and useless feature (which they charge you sky high for it). Currently I am so happy with my ducky 9008 that I feel like finding something type everyday. I would buy additional keyboard to serve for my other desktop but due to the steep price is better to buy it later (maybe I won't be able to hold that when Cherry Red Keyboards are around). My parents eyes were rolling when they help me to carry the RM400+ ducky keyboard from Singapore. As well as my relatives and uncle aunties, cant explain what is so special about my keyboard. Just tell them it's like a mechanical watch vs a electrical watch! everyone I know don't understand that too LOL |

QUOTE(quest_5692 @ Feb 1 2011, 10:55 PM) hi moogle, what would be the deciding factor in your opinion in choosing filco and ducky? since ducky is only rm220 RRP in taiwan for full NKRO while filco cost 300 (non) and 340 (nkro) i found a link about comparison between filco and ducky, u might be interested in this: http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=12284and from your explanation up there, those arnt like.......big factors in choosing keyboard. QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Feb 2 2011, 12:00 AM) Mind how do you get this price? well, if you factor in the shipping, it's around RM 400From PChome it shows 3490 NT I guess which cost like RM360 for the ducky. If filco cost only RM340 I am robed for paying RM400 for my ducky which I ask someone to brought over from Sg This post has been edited by THEswordmaster: Feb 2 2011, 12:23 AM |

QUOTE(BlueBerry~ @ Mar 8 2011, 07:08 PM) SteelSeries generally have better products than Razer. Heck I'm fully geared with SteelSeries. only thing thats not is the Razer BlackWidow cause I like the Blue switches more than the Black. Mah sister currently has my 7G. DO IT. Anyway, back on topic. Tempted to get the Zowie Keyboard to try. Should I? Or should I not? and tell us how u feel bout the keyboard |

QUOTE(lucidlts @ Mar 19 2011, 08:33 PM) asked my friends before, 9 out of 10 never actually unscrew their keyboard & look what's inside. well, i think that's a list of pretty standard reply from malaysians LOL After showing them what's inside my warranty-voided-Razer-Arctosa & mechanical keyboards, here's some example of their replies: -WT-Fish why use keyboard this heavy? -mechanical keyboard ugly & expensive -eh? why different one? (LOL) -eh? why your button is red color one? (the ABS caps on my 6GV2) -the keyboard very thick, heavy, not nice la -keyboard only also need so expensive meh? eat brand name la! SWT-ed. |
