QUOTE(jasmineivan @ Dec 10 2010, 08:41 AM) zz,,what the ..... Why mechanical keyboard can't have backlit. Then legend and Xarmor also not mechanical already. the owner of the shop that sold the tron mouse in sg said that. he said true mechanical cant have backlight because of the switches below. i dont know if its true or not. just asking whether it is The backlit do nothing with the switches, simply some lighting effect of the extra LED. |

Difficult to put in the LED and connect all of them with power supply some more with adjustable brightness level.Anyway , there is really some existing mechanical keyboard with backlit like deck legend, Blackwindow Ultimate, Xarmor U9BL. Don't know why backlit has becoming the trend of gaming keyboard, act most of the time the light just the gimmick or some luxury made the keyboard look better but not really improved anything, but think in future more and more backlit mechanical keyboard will come out. |

is actually because to achieve NKRO, they need diode on under each switches.
diode usually are place under the switch. see those diode under the switch? ![]() picture courtesy of sixty from geekhack if you want to put LED, you need to replace those diode with LED, and in order to achieve the NKRO, you have to place those diode in other position of the PCB, instead of under the key switch. ![]() |

QUOTE(Boomeraangkid @ Dec 10 2010, 11:05 AM) Of cause better, 2KRO means when you stroking some combination of 3 or more than 3 keys then keyboard will stuck and won't respond to your command.NKRO means all keys can be bump at 1 shot, not really tried that cos I don't have such lot of fingers, but at least my PS2 7g can press 10 keys together. |

QUOTE(Boomeraangkid @ Dec 10 2010, 08:38 AM) but i dont want the razer keyboard No, a keyboard doesn't need led lighting to be a mechanical keyboard. In reponse to Cnet's review posting some very controversial ratings by rating the DAS kb better than a Topre; i posted how a keyboard should be evaluated upon. QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin;260103) Anyway to sum it up; the ratings are reflecting features that are of less importance and as a result unjustly made the Topre look way worse than a DAS; when from what i have seen many in GH feel the realforce is a superior typist keyboard. So which is more important ? The typing feel or a usb socket for your usb coffee mug as D-EJ915 so kindly pointed out. The way i see it the rating should be for the most basic and important features of what makes a keyboard first and foremost. Primary ratings 1. Key print type: silk screened; laser etched; dye sublimated; double shots ? 2. key tech: rubberdome; mechanical switch; topre ? 3. build quality: plastic used; durability of casing, keycaps, controller,NKRO tests; ghosting etc etc.... 4. price: Are you getting your bang for buck when considering all the pointers mentioned so far when considering the primary ratings; followed by secondary ratings as an afterthought ? For me personally; keyboards such as Ducky/Filco/Leopold meet the basic requirements i need. A Topre is something more refined for typing. So for myself i'd vote for the former as being more bang for buck than say a Topre; but thats usually up to everyone to decide for themselves. Secondary ratings 1. lighting = None; or like G15 standard lighting; or better quality lighting like say Deck Legend and Razer Black widow with leds for each individual keys ?? 2. macros = e.g. like Razer etc 3. usb = usb ports for your coffee mug warmers etc etc etc... 4. braided cords So the main ratings is what should determine if the keyboard is good or not I do admit i too love led lighted keyboards; especially the high quality ones like found in the Razer black widow which has 1 led for each key. BUT i don't value that over the primary ratings i mentioned. This is the mistake the gaming keyboard thread are making. They do not understand what makes a good keyboard; and they get lulled by the cool lightings; and these macro features. Some mechanicals too also have macro features; and led lighting too; but more important they have mechanical switches; and some even have NKRO. Of course pricing is an important factor. But when i see keyboards like Logitech G19 rubberdomes which sells for as much as a good mechanical keyboard; i don't see what good reason there is to get the rubberdome over a mechanical keyboard in such instances. And even if there are some rubber domes half the cost (like RM2xx range), i feel that paying in the range of RM4xx-Rm5xx is well worth the cost for a good mechanical keyboard that does NKRO for the purpose of gaming and an enjoyable typing experience. But if you are strapped for cash; and want to upgrade other computer parts such as cpu; graphics cards etc; then yes by all means please do. Using a cheap keyboard until your ready to get a better keyboard is a smart choice. That was what i did with my rig. I prioritsed what i wanted to upgrade e.g. cpu; ram; hard drive space etc; before at the end when i upgraded my keyboard. A good mechanical keyboard should be seen like; why you get better speakers; or why you get a better gaming mouse. That is pretty much why you would get a better keyboard That was why i made this thread to separate us from such misconceptions lauding the rubberdome bling keyboards over quality mechanical or Topre hybrid keyboards. This would be my dream blink on a mechanical keyboard, alas it's a scissor switch luxeed. all leds are programmable to react the way you one. imagine each key lighting up and fades out as you type them. i jizzed. |
