QUOTE(axn992 @ Mar 7 2011, 08:49 PM) cheapest mechanical keyboard = razer blackwidow? is it good? i think the deep cheapest is ducky 1008 from pchome. its below 300 including shipping. you get to choose 4 kind of switches instead of going for a razer product.

most sc2 players use blue or brown or even red now. you should try yourself b4 deciding. cuz they give different feeling. SlayersBoxer uses blue switch. ST july and Fruitdealer uses brown switch. IMO both are good for starcraft 2, just diff feeling. but brown is definitely a better choice in overall usage (typing, Counter strike, blah blah.....)
even we all in LYN starcraft forum, some uses blue some uses brown. evofantasy uses brown cuz he need to type alot also. calvin and I prefer blue instead....so its very much personal preference

QUOTE(axn992 @ Mar 8 2011, 03:06 PM) Razer build quality quite good. used my copperhead 4 yrs still works fine. Imperator 1 year still ok! thats probably because u nvr used steelseries mouses...they withstand trucks. Lol heard numerous complain of razer mice rubber peel off, not accurate, plastic scratched. Tho imperator is a neat mouse, one of the rare razer product i like

i tried it before. seriously its really lovely.
its like......a mixture of brown and black. its like brown with 2 pressing points, if you press it lightly, you will reach a register point, then you press further you will bottom up. but brown has a very clear cut point, you press till checkpoint 1 will have a clack sound then you continue to press. while for red, when you press till checkpoint 1, it will just *smusshh* in like the black keys. so it has no accurate checkpoint, just a grey zone where it will smussh in and then continue to bottom up. Black has this smussh feeling but its at the most bottom of the key, while red's smuusshh point is very high, something like brown's.. about half way down. and it will push you back.
so if you compare brown to red, red has the same actuation as brown but red pushes you back at the actuation point while brown just inform you that you had reached the actuation point by giving a clack sound. so if you are learning how to touch type, maybe red will be a btr option.

actually i think its ok to be more expensive because its not available here, the supplier is taking a big risk to bring something totally new here. as a pioneer. its the same as audiophile in malaysia, glad Jaben had made it, maybe cyclone can ask how Jaben did it. they start from online selling headphone in forum till now they have a shop lot selling headphones that cost up to rm10k (head fi IS rare in malaysia)... all because we are constantly supporting them, throwing in money to make things possible....instead of buying from ebay because its cheaper....
